Re: Film scanners - anyone use Vuescan?

Tesseract is free OCR software available for Windows, Mac and Linux. It's claimed to be very accurate (it is for me!) and will process very many languages. I believe that there are GUIs for those...

Re: From E-510 to OM-D E-M5

I agree that it's not worth getting an adaptor for your 4/3 40-150mm lens. You'll pay around as much for the adaptor as the lens is worth.

I think that if you go out with your 0M-D E-M5 for a day,...

Re: Shutter button missing cap

So it looks like there's a flat dark plastic surface, with a raised rim on the outside, and a dimple in the middle also with a surrounding raised rim. Is that a fair description? Can I also see in...

Strange! I'm 6ft 4ins with hands in proportion ('lavatory pan lids' *yes) and I don't have problems handling my E-P5!

An image would be very helpful. Also measurements. I think that a one-off three D printed would be expensive.

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

For some weird reason, it doesn't seem to matter what Johnson does or says, the public still seem to like him! A neighbour said to me a while ago "I like him - he's funny!", and this seems for many...

Re: Shutter button missing cap

All I can see on my E-P5 is an 8mm disk for the shutter release, so I can't tell how deep it is or what the means of attachment is. If it's very simple underneath, and if you're really, really stuck,...

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

It was inevitable. Brexit was a poisoned chalice for May from the word go. I don't know why she didn't see it.

Prior to T.M.'s speech Vicky Young commented that during the week Labour didn't...

(As a lifetime atheist, why do I have a strong urge that I have difficulty in suppressing, to point out Christian Values to people? It's quite absurd really!)

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

There's zero chance that Labour will get in - the right wing media that form the opinion of a large number of the electorate will make sure of it!

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

Several politicians yesterday voiced the opinion that it was just down to a straight leave with no deal or remain, and I agree that it's just down to either of these that's the most likely outcome.
