Re: Bokeh

Dependant on how you buy Word - e.g. I have an Office 365 account, so all the Microsoft applications are available for your Mac and work just as well (or better) at no additional cost...

I have an...

I think you’ll be fine. I switched ages ago while still supporting Windows in a corporate environment and to be honest MacOS is easier once you find the differences. Go for it, you won’t regret it,...

Re: An Archetypic Mushroom: Fly Agaric Amanita muscari

I find it a bit disturbing - especially the one called Whacky Baccy (or something like that)! It's a bit like David Lynch's 'Eraserhead', but for children!

Re: A few birds and an interloper at Calke Abbey today

Oh yes Mark sounds like you've inadvertently reset your sleep settings to something very short. I have mine on 3 minutes which I think is actually what was the default as I can't remember changing it...

Mark,
Your wish is my request!
Here are a couple taken in September 2011 using my E3 + Pan Leica 14 - 150 lens.

Re: South of Bondi, Sydney

And here is a review that puts it all into context. Yes there is an issue but overall it's a superb lens.

Re: Auntie Can't Keep a Secret

Mark,

Perhaps, at your safe distance, the detector vans might not catch up with you.

The BBC is great value. BBC4 runs a continuous loop of repeats of repeats of repeats. So we need never miss...

Re: Melbourne's Queen Victoria Market

Great photos - brought back very happy memories of February when we were in Melbourne. I loved the cotrast between the modern High Rise and the market. Sadly there was much discussion about the...

Re: 1066 And All That

Good shots, and good to see you’re enjoying the E-M5 II. Fingers crossed the Southern Hemisphere doesn’t get a summer as extreme as the one we’ve had up North (though it has been lovely, and not too...

Re: Are you beach body fit?

They are young and fit (well, one of them is fit). I see nothing wrong in that; they look fine to me.

Thanks Keith. I almost put one of these in to the "reflections" competition but thought I...

Re: Question

For better IQ go for the PRO lens. For marginally slightly more shots in focus go for the M1ii. The M1 will handle differently to the M5 - not better or worse, just differently, so try it before you...

Re: Question

Unless you are really going after birds in flight I'd go for the lens first. It's capturing fast moving things where the EM1 mk2 has the biggest advantage. I think you'll struggle to see the mega...

Re: Question

Doesn't the E-M1 Mk1 allow for a limited amount of PDAF as well as CDAF? which the E-M5 doesn't have, which would give a slight edge in focusing? However the Mk1 limitations for Birds in Flight mean...

Re: Question

Mark, to get the best bird pictures you need to be very close to your subject. So bush skills are very important. If you are very close then you need to be shooting in f8 - f11 range to get enough...

Re: Question

Then you can get an EM1 Mk ii in about 15 months time for a lot less than it is today - do not forget the 1.4 adapter for the 40-150mm lens.

Re: Question

I'd say the M5 Mkii + the 40-150mm F2.8 pro. But that's just gut feel really.
