Re: Show Your Snowdrop Pictures

Went to Welford Park on the 14th.

Many thanks for the tip-off, I'd never heard of it and my partner was delighted!

I don't think that we'll be seeing 'Dave in Wales' for a while! ;)

Re: "Excuse me, but..."

I got your reflection in the 'boss' in the centre and that it's probably a ceramic (owl?), but that's all!

Re: Out in the countryside today

I would have thought that the ferret and Harris Hawk would be mortal enemies!

Re: Topaz: Process JPEG as RAW

I wonder what it would make of scanned 35mm transparencies - would it invent detail that wasn't on the film?

I might download the trial and give it a go.

Re: Red Kite (image heavy!)

As well as being re-introduced into the Chilterns at Watlington, they were also re-introduced in Northampton and the Black Isle in Scotland. I understand that they've not done so well in the Black...

Re: Show Your Snowdrop Pictures

That's a 'must' visit for us! I wonder if it's the right time now? If it is we'll probably go this week.

Re: Resolution and Image Quality

I'd give it 90% - the poses of the standing figures are stiff and unnatural, but then it was pretty much the style in those times.

My own taste is mainly for Turner, Pre-Raphaelites, Glasgow Boys...

Re: Resolution and Image Quality

My partner's late father is a listed artist and there are several of his paintings hanging in the house. He was born in Koenigsberg, East Prussia (now Kaliningrad, Russia). He served in the Wehrmacht...

Re: Age-Related Difficulties

Thanks Harold.

I expect that I'll be 'brown bread' by the time the procedure gets approved, besides I don't think that it's progressed to a stage where it would warrant it. It's a nuisance,...

Re: Age-Related Difficulties

This thread's a bit like a doctor's waiting room (I think that I was the one that came up with the original idea)!

As can bee seen, the barrels and heads are black (I was wrong about the tappet covers)....

Re: Any old iron?

Not sure what model the Vincent is. It's probably a model 'C' (the 'D' had aluminium push-rod tunnels, whereas this has stainless steel). It's got the black timing chest cover of a Black Shadow, but...

Last time we were in the Cotswold Wildlife Park, they had a pair. Their call was very loud, but not unpleasant.

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

So if he's so consistently bad at his job, why is he still in it? Or is there a dark conspiracy at work?
