Re: Nice bark

What amazing camouflage. Two great shots Walti, especially the second one.

The Tree Creepers near me must have even more cryptic plumage as I haven't spotted one for months. :D

Re: v3 Firmware for mk2 - updates for mk2, m1x and lenses

You can explain to your brother that lens correction to RAW files is NOT done in the camera, the RAW files really are RAW. I can understand why he jumped to the conclusion that it is done in the...

Re: Another photography workshop!

Excellent work by student & teacher!

I’ve been on a couple of her wildlife workshops and thought both were fine value, and I learned masses. She works very hard all day.

I tried to go on one of...

Re: Another photography workshop!

A blind spot cured by the looks...……

My faves are 2,3 and 4, in that order. The castley thing makes me want to put in onto a third, but you have reasons not to I guess.

A day very well...

A nice set, but that second to last image is, IMHO, rather special.

Re: June '19 Challenge: Wide Angle

I don't see why not. Wide Angle is a description of the subject, not necessarily a method statement...……….:)

Re: Noise issues

Go to Cog menu E1.

Set Noise Filter to Low. (I always use this setting.)

And most importantly set Noise Reduct. to Auto. (this is a feature to reduce noise with long exposures).

What did you...

Re: Duxford day 2 - 2 Spitfires

A wonderful set, with just the right amount of propeller blur. You should be very pleased with these.

Re: Playing with PRO capture...

Nice, Paul!
I’d have thought you’d perhaps be OK at 1/2500 for that sort of shot - certainly worth trying that to eke out the ISO. If it’s not sharp enough, try another click faster, then another.

Re: Playing with PRO capture...

Looks great at this viewing size. Are you able to attempt tracking AF and widen the Aperture? Or does the bird emerge from cover very suddenly? With respect to the reflector, you’ll be at the mercy...

Re: Playing with PRO capture...

It is difficult, Walti. I don't have pro capture but I have tried with burst mode and had a similar lack of success. These things just fly too fast to freeze the action and my panning skills are...

Re: Playing with PRO capture...

Walti, I spend quite a lot of time shooting BIF; I've also tried pro capture which for me doesn't work as well as relying upon my own reflexes. Over time I have learnt to recognise the signs that...

Re: Printing

Hi Walti

This month’s Black & White Photography Magazine covers 6 labs in case that’s the way you go. I use Simlab, about £1.50 inc. VAT for 18”x 12” print. This means that I can reprint edits...
