Broken

Spotted this in the local churchyard and liked its illuminated grittiness in the morning light against the shadows behind.

Re: Dust!!!!

Dust bunnies are a fact of life and I personally don't get too excited by them. I rarely shoot at f-stops bigger than f5.6 and with the thick m43 sensor stack it would have to be a fairly large bit...

Re: Nomada Bee

They are some excellent macro shots Harold. Well done for persevering in what sounds like uncomfortable conditions.

Re: Dust!!!!

12 swabs will, in theory, give you 12 cleans, so about a 5 per clean. However, 66 is a bit crazy.

Try these people - they are cheaper and their site also has a lot of good advice:

Re: Dust!!!!

I'd not heard that. A quick bit of Googling reveals little, although I did find an abstract of some research in using methanol to de-polymerise PET (which is the most commonly-used plastic for...

Wink Re: Dust!!!!

This is what I do:

Ingredients:

- SensorSwab Type 2 swabs. They're 17mm across so will fit the width of m43 just fine (m43 is 17.3mm x 21.6mm).

- Eclipse cleaning fluid. It's basically...

Re: Dust!!!!

I often hear people claiming that the Olympus SSWF is so good that they never need to clean their sensor, even after years of use. That's not my experience at all. I find that although Olympus...

Another reason why shooting JPEG only has its limitations.

Re: Some Spring Flowers

Thanks for the kind comments! They were all taken with the 300mm f4 BTW. I'm discovering that it's not just a lens for wildlife and such like. Here a few more:

Re: Flickr Sold To SmugMug

The thing is Dave, the free internet model really is (a) not free (you are the product - an object to be advertised to and have your personal data stolen); and (b) becoming rarer (cloud subscription...

Re: Flickr Sold To SmugMug

Having read a number of articles on this, I think it's actually very good news - for both Flickr users and the photography community in general. This is a good summary from someone with some insight....

Re: About to buy a Pen-F

Do Olympus support ALL their lenses on Pro Cap L? If not, then my suspicion is that only certain lenses can focus quickly enough to deal with the frame rate. It's reasonable that Olympus test their...

Re: C-AF - tight/loose

If the background is fairly featureless (e.g. sky), then the "all points" mode works remarkably well. It's sort of fun too to watch the green rectangles dancing around!

Only applies on CAF. Not sure whether Tracking makes a difference or not. I suspect not.

Re: About to buy a Pen-F

What lens were you using? Some lenses are faster than others on aperture operation. However, I think even the fastest operating aperture will still be quite visible so the only explanation is that...

Re: About to buy a Pen-F

Maybe it's different with ProCapture. TBH, I've not used that at all. You'd definitely see the aperture moving if it's stopping down/re-opening.

Yes, the E-M1ii has a different shutter. It can do mechanical shutter at 15fps.

Re: About to buy a Pen-F

M43 cameras always focus wide open. If you're shooting stopped down then the aperture will be opening and closing for every shot. That's why the continuous frame rate drops with some older lenses...
