Re: Demon deal, or deal with a demon?

I read it in the tea leaves - there's nothing you can do to stop the powers that be, you WILL buy one. :)

Re: My new Pen F

Well, you know what to do. A roll of HP5+ is a good starting place, expose some diptychs and have the film processed - AG Photolab are highly recommended and quite affordable too.

Re: My new Pen F

I'll post some results when I've run the first roll, Paul. Currently have a roll of 36 Tri-X in the cam, making 72 opportunities for a 'single frame' camera. (Might have to push to 1600.)
The Pen F...

Re: Olympus PEN-F, 17mm 1.8 with hood, grip + two 4/3 lenses

I must say I became rather excited when I read someone was selling a Pen F with 432 actuations, just 6 rolls of film in 50 odd years. Then I read on.... :)

Best of luck on eBay, or here if someone...

Re: My new Pen F

Some arrangement, not only to adjust the film gate but to reduce the film advance by 1/2. Amazing technology. And of course it would alter the effective FL and field of view.

Re: My new Pen F

Being a medical man you will be aware of the 'bolt of electricity' therapy - usually effective in 70% of cases. But be careful you don't blow a fuse! :)

Re Edit 2, the viewfinder is offset near the LHS looking from the rear. Ideal for right eye dependent togs like myself. An ingenious design for an SLR.

Re: My new Pen F

Thanks! It's almost too nice to use, but contrary to what the wife thinks, I'm not a collector. Actually, and please don't tell her, I'm thinking of a second, one for B&W and the other for colour....

Re: My new Pen F

Well, as I'm sure you are aware being an old school togger, you can take a regular 36 memory thing (equating to 72 for the Pen) and cut a bit off with the aid of a changing bag. It's great if you're...

Re: My new Pen F

Thanks Alf.
The Pen EE is a capable camera and does the job, but the F is an SLR and offers the benefits accordingly. I'm going to run a roll to check it out, but 72 shots is a heck of a lot for us...

Re: My new Pen F

Not doing too bad for a fifty year old, is she. The little temptress; if she were human I'm sure she'd wear stockings and suspenders. She's in marvellous condition, hardly a blemish on her, imported...

Nice one mm500, looks almost unused - from Japan maybe?
(My new to me Pen FT complete with 40 f/1.4 have cleared customs, I can't wait.)

I must say it's great to see another photographer...

Re: EM10 Mk 2 upgrade

Obviously I was stating with my tongue in cheek, as it were, however there is a serious aspect. A rear LCD screen can be a distraction for certain genres, eg street photography. I know from personal...

Reading about all those real camera shops selling real cameras - it's difficult to resist a holiday with a big suitcase.

Re: EM10 Mk 2 upgrade

I would add that any rear screen on a camera could be considered a disadvantage - it's a distraction from taking / making pictures. Get rid of them.

Re: Camera scanned with EM5

Yes, shoot with film, digitally scan. The scan is more than adequate for sharing (that's what 99.9% do after all) but I also have the negative which could be used for darkroom printing. Although...

Re: Camera scanned with EM5

Thank you, apart from pointing the camera, the work is mainly done by Tri-X; it's well known for its rich blacks. I did very little to the image, it was ready for output almost straight from the...

Re: What does warranty cover?

I know how annoying it can be, but even if you wrapped the camera in cotton wool, without taking a single shot, the value will decrease in a surprisingly short period of time. Look at the second...

Can digital do that? Probably with PhotoShop, but I see some efforts with PS and they're best described as Trigger's Broom.
