Re: Balconies by the river, seen better days.

The ones in the first shot (and the third) look OK and the whole house in the second looks derelict or abandoned. They remind me quite strongly of some places in northern Spain.

Nice shots, you've...

Re: Five Compositions

Thanks again Mark. I think I was confused by the last two being diptychs and trying to read them as single images.

I like the way the round sign is repeated in #4 left, and in the other shot the...

Re: February Challenge: Portrait

Congrats to the winners and thanks to everybody else, there were some great photos there and I didn't have enough likes to go round!

Your selfie reminded me very much of Jane Bown's classic...

Re: Five Compositions

Thank you Mark. I could see what you were doing with the first three (I think!) but am still a bit baffled by the last two.

Of course you are right that having a "harmonious" eye is the best way...

Re: Some recent mono shots

Love the misty ones. I always find mist much harder to portray than expected. Even now that I am expecting it to be hard!

Re: Who Pulled the Plug?

Thanks Barr1e. Having spent many hours applying my backside to the things and only seeing the bits that stick up out of the water, that's really interesting.

Re: Who Pulled the Plug?

Re: Lost chariot in Cardiff

Wales won it. Which is always painful for us Anglos, but IMHO they deserved it.

Re: If you go down to the woods today....

Nice shots. You couldn't do that round here though.....

The dust has mostly died down following "the unpleasantness" in Salisbury last year with the Novichok poisonings. However, it has recently...

Re: Sapper

Another plus vote for sapper/Dave from me. I bought a tripod head and it was a very good transaction - good communication, very quick delivery, well packaged, and head was just as described.

I...

Thanks Wally, very interesting.

While I don't quite understand how some of the photos illustrate the theme, they add up to quite a body of work. Which I suppose is the intention. I've only looked...

Re: Don't judge a camera by reviews, but by it's potential.

Yes, of course, but the equipment can have a big bearing on how you turn your vision into an image.

People at work often used to ask me what camera they should buy. I would tell them to get one...

Re: Godox X1T-O

I think the new Oly system, launched alongside the E-M1X, is controlled by radio rather than optically. I've no idea whether it fits with any sort of standard system though.

I guess we must be of similar vintage as I started with a Garrard SP25 as well. Got fed up with it pretty quickly, I think it got replaced with another Garrard with a rather odd name like Module...

Re: Photoshop Ai enhanced RAW

If there is a difference, it looks very marginal to me and I wouldn't like to choose which one was "better". I had a little play with it on files from various cameras and didn't notice any worthwhile...
