Re: BLH-1 Clone Tests

Thanks James for the hard work and detailed report. I will be interested to see your results on self-discharge and so on once enough time has passed for analysis.

For me, having a decent...

Re: Bit the bullet............

A key point, I feel. Whether it is "worth it" or not is another matter - but if you have enjoyed it then it is.

I like the way the motorways in your part of the world have grass on the central reservation :)

Re: The last wicket.

That is a very sophisticated scoreboard and grand looking clubhouse. I've not heard of it, does it have history?

Re: E-M1 Level on Half-Press

Yup. Menu - Cogs I (EVF) - Half Way Level.

I would like to claim I remembered it :) But actually just did a search in the manual for level.

Re: Dorset details

We're hot on parking down here in the pretty bits of Wessex. Here in Salisbury it is a great bone of contention - I am sure it is everywhere, but our particular gripe is that parking charges are set...

Re: “Egg” Mystery Cracked

All the technical detail goes way over my head but the gist is very interesting, as are the photos. Thanks Harold.

Re: About to buy a Pen-F

Thanks for the very clear explanation Paul. I am not aware of having suffered the effects of shutter shock, but it will be interesting to switch the option on and see if there is any difference.

Re: Tough Call

The Mk I is still a jolly good camera - and it is weather-sealed which might give you extra options that another 10 would not :)

Re: The First Fruit Blossom of Spring: Old English Greengage with Stereo

Lovely as greengages are, I'd vote for bullaces - they make fantastic jam! I'm sure Harold's greengages will be delicious.

Re: Tina's New M5 Mkii +12-40mm PRO (1st images)

Crossed wire here, I think. I was pointing out that the Ilford film, in the UK at least, was XP2 rather than XZ2. So the comparison with a phone or film compact camera falls down.

I rather liked...

Re: Tina's New M5 Mkii +12-40mm PRO (1st images)

Wasn't the Ilford chromogenic B&W film XP2, Mark?

You could still raise the same question about Windows XP of course......

Re: F1.2 pro glass

I disagree - it's to do with both. Which is more important will vary depending on your subject matter and circumstances. Original poster WPJ had already talked about shooting theatre performances -...

Re: Visitors to Brisbane....

Well done, it can't have been easy in the crowds.

It must be a strange life that they lead, but for Charles at least it is all he will have known. As you say, sooner them than me!

Re: F1.2 pro glass

You could try the f/1.8 primes - I have used the 25 and 45 a lot and found both very good. And you should get them for a lot less outlay! In fact I got the 25/1.8 used from somebody here on the forum...

Re: F1.2 pro glass

I have used the 25mm for a lot of live music in badly-lit venues and found it excellent. It's heavy on the wallet and in the camera bag if you don't need the fast aperture though.

Re: EM5 Mk II Newbie needing help.

Just a thought - if you want to travel light, you could put your Panny 20mm lens on the Oly body. You should also be able to replicate all the settings (exposure mode, aperture etc.) which should...

Re: Scanner Issue

I had something similar with a Nikon film scanner. The problem with this one is that the scanner driver software is "unsigned" which I think means that Microsoft don't certify it as safe - and Nikon...

Re: Why 4 JPEG IQ settings.

Oops - just checked the manual. There are in fact 28 possible combos!

There are 4 possibilities for resolution for M(edium) and 2 for S(mall) giving 7 options in all. I set Medium to 2560 x 1920....
