Re: Pen-F and just one lens.

The 25/1.8 is a nice lens, but it's got a very plastic feel to it. Just like the 45/1.8. It works, but it has little joy of ownership.

Re: Pen-F and just one lens.

Depends what you're planning to photograph really. 12-40 - balances fine and it's a fantastic piece of glass. If you're thinking primes and small, then the 17/1.8. Primes and big - the 25/1.2.

Re: Camera RAW support for M1X not available in LR stand alone, only CC

I discovered that EM1x raws are identical to EM1.2 raws. You just need to patch the EXIF. Download Exiftool and use it with the command line:

c:\> exiftool -Model="E-M1MarkII" xxx.ORF

Dodgy not the word. Fraud is the better choice. Don't pay outside of PayPal unless you want to lose your money. I think you should report it to Paypal.

Ferry Cross the Mersey

I remember when this was something that you used to get to Birkenhead rather than a tourist trap!

My Old School

This is the Liverpool Institute High School for Boys - well, the building that once housed that school. It's now the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts (LIPA). Amongst its alumni are:

Re: My latest foray into FF mirrorless - and why I'm sticking with m43

Sync IS on the 12-100 adds about an extra stop or so of stabilisation. I've done 8s hand held on the EM1.2 with it. Definitely an excellent lens for landscape.

Lancaster

A few grab-shots from Lancaster city centre. Got there late and had about a half-hour before the day finally disappeared...

Lancaster University

My son is probably going to be heading off to Lancaster University this coming Autumn so we were up there for a visit. I've never been up to Lancaster before so it was interesting to see the campus...

Re: Long Tailed Tit

That's a cracker. The 100-400 is quite a lens really. I reckon that it's 95% of the sharpness of the 300 f4, but the zoom makes it a much more versatile option. It's a pity that Oly and Panasonic...

Re: Photoshop Ai enhanced RAW

I wasted about 5 mins of CPU time deciding that this "feature" is about as useful as CAF tracking on my E-M1ii!

Re: Photoshop Ai enhanced RAW

I've tried it on a number of images - 16 and 20 Mp m43 imagess and also from a few other cameras like the Fuji xe1 and Sony A7rii and have failed to see any difference at all.

Re: Blue Tit Crop

Very nice. The 300/4 is so sharp, even at 100% images still look superb.

Lakes photo trip with Alf?

I think most of us appreciate Alf's stunning landscapes of the Lakes. His post earlier this week with shots from this year prompted me to wonder if he'd be up for hosting a little outing to share...

Re: A mix of this years Landsacpes

Hi Alf - I'll open another thread to judge interest. I agree that doing something before the summer would be the most sensible. 3am starts to catch the sunrise don't really appeal!
