The Lowry - Different Perspective

An experimental photo (the only one of a bunch of them that turned out well). 25mm was too long, for this shot, so I took it with a little perspective correction, in post, in mind. I used the...

Re: Impossible Rumour ?

Not Full Frame! Full Thirds! I'd love to see a larger (FF ballpark) format with a native 4:3 (or square) aspect ratio. 3:2 is the thing I like least about my full frame kit.

That said, after a...

Re: When you gotta brag, you gotta brag...

That level of manipulation isn’t really my thing, but I love the panel! Congratulations.

Re: Tall Ships at Liverpool This Weekend

Wanted to go.... Had arranged to go.... But bloody Northern Rail is in such a mess at the moment. Add to that the fun and games if Liverpool had actually done one on Madrid, and we decided not to...

Re: Enjoying the simplicity of the XZ-1

Nice set. A similar concept to the Panasonic LX100, from Olympus, is long overdue. They could call it the Trip.

The Long Weekend Through a Long Lens

Took the MZD 40-150 f4-5.6 for a rare outing, yesterday, and made some scapes, general photos and architectural abstracts. All taken with the Pen E-P5 + aforementioned lens, processed in Lightroom...

Re: Eclectic mix from Osterley.

Looking good. I think the 12-100 would make a perfect travel lens.

Re: Today's Best

Good to see the old E-3 still producing beautiful images (in the right hands, of course).

Re: SmugMug acquire Flickr

Well SmugMug have a BB code sharing option. I assumed Photobucket was merely exhibiting plughole behaviour.

Re: Adobe software updates April 2018

The big news, for me, is that camera profiles are now supported in (cloudy) Lightroom CC, along with full Uprignt functionality.

SmugMug acquire Flickr

Todayís big news, over at DPR and PetaPixel is that SmugMug have acquired Flickr from Yahoo/Verizon/Oath/Whatever. Usual promises of no changes, but my gut feeling is that this is positive!

Re: PEN E-PL9 Announced

That was my response, over on DPR. There are just too many better cameras (notably the Panasonic GX80) that can be had for less than this new/old design.

Re: I've setup a portfolio site

Impressive stuff. Likewise I have an Adobe Subscription. I’ve also embraced the cloud, for better or worse. I’ve only had a play with Adobe Spark, so far. I’ll have to give Portfolio a try.

Re: Today Didn't Happen !

Sounds like our January. If a Terminator robot, from the future, arrived at our house to prevent me from one day leading the resistance, it would probably break down. We’d need to reset it!

Re: Robin Wong review of 17mm f1.2

I would certainly edge towards DoF, for subject isolation, given my style and limitation (I simply donít see or compose quickly enough).

Re: Panasonic 20mm f1.7 vs Olympus 17mm f1.8

Agreed. I have the Olympus. My sister has the PanaLeica. Thereís little in it. When I bought the Olympus, the list prices were close enough to edge me towards the PanaLeica, but the Olympus could...

Re: Bag for Pen F and 12mm, 25mm & 45mm primes

I have the 30 (older design). Not much larger and also takes an iPad. It mainly houses the full frame camera, these days, but Iíve used it recently to carry the E-M5 with 12-40 attached, along with...
