Re: A Very Poor Show!

Re: Vigilance

Thanks Jim, well shooting captive birds is one way to build one's bird portfolio, I've not visited Melbourne zoo where I believe there's a substantial aviary. That said, my self imposed challenge is...

Do Not Disturb

*note Courtship in Progress!
These aren't going to win me any awards. Hidden by a tree at 15 metres this was as close as I could get
to a couple of Willie Wagtails, I think. I watched like a...

Re: Going telephoto in Lanzarote

Love your long lens, Jason, especially #1, #3, #5. I was also mainly a wide angle man up until the E-3 + SWD 50-200, but since the M5 Mkii + 40-150 + tc, I'm just a long lens junkie!

Common but Colourful

Outside this picturesque setting, the so called common brown butterfly would hardly rate a second look.
I spotted it this morning on my regular walk, after I shot the Vigilant Kookaburra

Re: Red Wattlebird

Analogy:
A neighbour next door kept bringing home "stuff" (just any old thing, trailer load after trailer load) ADHD bigtime. His place is so crammed full of it that I am told he sleeps on top of a...

Re: Vigilance

Thanks Mark. Yes we do get the Tawny Frog Mouth here but damned hard to spot. As it happens, I was working the patch last week when a passer by stopped to tell me where he saw one; unfortunately I...

Vigilance

On this morning's walk I was lucky enough to spot him ready to swoop again into the creek for a second dip.
Sadly the frog pond was hidden by reeds, tomorrow I'll choose a different vantage point in...

Re: Red Wattlebird

Thanks Jim; as you like #2 best, maybe I should un-bin it! What I don't like is the 6 o'clock angle of its head.

Re: Red Wattlebird

Thanks Larry, yes, the top one struck a nice pose, didn't he.

The middle one is a bit tacky, I binned it from my files.

My favourite is the bif, not for IQ but because it was the hardest to get.

I got an invitation to our local art society's end of year "soiree"; nothing more than an over-priced Christmas Party for posers, bloody wankers!

Eh bien, 'le canard' semble plus élégant dans...
