I got the EM1X yesterday and had a couple of hours in the garden my observations compared with the em mkII for BIF not technical just how it feels I only ever use M I set it up as I have the mkII...

I use that combo a lot DavidB for birding I have my camera set to turn off /standby after 60 seconds then as I see a bird I jab the shutter button as i'm bringing it up to my eye the batterie last...

Yes it does jump about ,it would be nice if the centre point had priority and only changed if it lost focus but as the camera is looking for contrast and or nearest single point is the only way ....

A good way to check C-AF tracking sensitivity is say focus on a wall with a roof in the back ground then with caf engaged lift the camera from wall to roof and visa versa .

Can I just add I check all my lenses and cameras on a static subject (cereal box ) if a long lens 300 400 600 about 60ft away and then with a tc attached .bright calm day 1/2000sec 400iso and wide...

The focus point is quite a bit larger than the square seen in the VF so it could be grabbing something just outside it.

I was doing some tests today and found that with single point it way bigger than the oblong in fact it covers the area that 5 points shows .

I have not used single point much for BIF as I though...

I wish they would make it so when using more than 1 focus point all the others assist if needed , say if using 5 points center is the main and if it struggles only then...

One from tonight but a bit too far away really this was with 5 points I did try one but could not keep on the bird tracking was set at +1 I think I will try 0 midway next time .
