Re: Easy lens changing

I have been using a Movo lens changer since March this year - see http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=47495

Mine is MFT mount although it is not currently available from Amazon UK.

Re: Photoshop won’t accept RAW files

You've found the best way of keeping up with new camera formats, otherwise, Adobe force you to upgrade to a new version of Elements for each new camera!

Several other raw converters can be...

Re: Motor Insurance Question

Why not indeed. There is certainly no reward for loyalty. I had let mine renew without questioning over several years and got almost 50% reduction when I asked for a new quotation. Same for house...

Re: Communal Night-Sky Photography Thread

Last night, I tried taking a 'whole sky' photo with my Meike 6.5mm fish-eye lens, mounted on my E-M1 Mk.ii.

The lens was pointing vertically upwards on a tripod which I set up in the middle of the...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Is £6500 for a Leica body 'sensible'?

Perhaps Olympus are trying to enter that sacred space where aficionados will pay just for the name.

Re: E-m1 (classic) won't start - clicking

I hope you E-M1 is fixed soon :)

Sounds a good move to me. I never got on with Epson printers - they seemed to prioritise their own ideas over the user! For example, they would suddenly...

Re: E-m1 (classic) won't start - clicking

I'm sure it's repairable at much less cost than a new camera:)

I must admit that my E-M1 had more than its fair share of problems, including failure of a strap lug (a well-known defect),...

Re: E-m1 (classic) won't start - clicking

Sounds exactly the same as what finished my E-M1 - it tipped me into buying a Mk.ii.

Look into the front of the camera - is the shutter closed over the sensor?

Re: Images I Bought the Laowa 25mm x2.5 to x5 For e.g. Arcyria

It's not a UK plant but an epiphytic Orchid, Oberonia austroyunnanensis, from Yunnan province in China. For details, see http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=250092633

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

What about Sony A9 as the 'high end' model. That means £3,700 to beat :)

Re: Images I Bought the Laowa 25mm x2.5 to x5 For e.g. Arcyria

I always find it useful to have an appreciation of subject size. For, example, when photographing miniature orchids, I add a scale line because, otherwise, it could be completely mis-interpreted as...

Re: "NOISE!" (revised) by Terry Lane.

I did enjoy Terry Lane's comment that using ISO 6400 feels a bit "naughty".

I started on Kodachrome II (25ASA). Now that we have stabilisation and wide aperture lenses I rarely feel a need...

Re: Images I Bought the Laowa 25mm x2.5 to x5 For e.g. Arcyria

Fascinating photos and the stereo is very effective. As one not familiar with these things, a scale on the photo would be helpful to appreciate their tiny size.

Re: Communal Night-Sky Photography Thread

Looking good Phil. Remember a lot depends on the speed of your SD card.

When I tested (LargeFine+RAW), my Lexar 16GB 1000X UHS-II card, in slot 1, took 8 seconds to write a burst of 20...

So was I, when I first saw the de-fish results :).

Fish-eye and De-fish

I have a Meike 6.5mm fish-eye lens in MFT mount, which I use on my Olympus E-M1 Mk.ii. This lens has received very good reviews and at around £125 for a fast - f/2 aperture - ultra-wide lens, I...

Re: Using the P mode?

I aim to turn the dial to P before switching the camera 'off'. This ensures that I get a reasonable result, if I pick the camera up for a 'grab shot' without having time to think!

Because of...

Re: More from Photokina

I use a 6.5mm Meike fisheye, with a 190 deg. field of view. The 4mm Laowa should have the advantage of projecting a fully circular image on MFT, whereas the Meike (originally designed for APS) is...

Re: T power control 1 com T 10

You do not state which model of camera you use.

The manual for my E-M5 states that the flash trigger voltage should not exceed 24v.

The manual for my E-M1 Mk ii states, under...

Re: BMW drivers won't like this - or maybe they won't care!

The joke used to be that Audis had no off switch for the fog lights.

Well, it actually happened to me! The switch was on the back of the main light switch, operated by a pull action. Mine...
