Re: MC-14 Firmware

The MC14 is a 'dumb' device (old computer terminology) & relies on the lens to report it in use.

The lens connections (40-150 in this case) has two extra contact pads as seen here.

Re: Can you set the directional pad to press and hold?

I have the 4 way pad set to Direct Function so that the left button selects AF target & then I have the wheels (dials) set to move the target & the buttons, up/down to change the pattern & left/right...

Re: Official PEN-F....RIP.

The rumour is based on the black version being unavailable with a Google translation, "Black sale is over date" & yet the silver version is still available...

Re: Monday's Moon from 'downunder'.

The 2 x Digital Teleconverter is in the user Menus & is a two times crop which is then upsized for the JPEG. If saving JPEG & raw then the raw file is as normal with the complete image uncropped. I...

Re: The Moon

A lot of detail in your photos snerkler. I took one with the 40-150 + MC14 & with the 2 x DTC, just because I could as seen in this thread...

Monday's Moon from 'downunder'.

Rather than hijack other's threads here is my take of the moon on Monday night.

Clouds were passing through so this is one moment I captured, processed in Capture One (10) to lift the shadows &...

Re: "That back-to-front lens hood" - Post yours here.

There are a range of '3-In-One Professional' products including Silicone or Dry Lubricant (with PTFE) made by WD40 (https://www.wd40.com/products) as seen here. http://www.3inone.com.au/products I...

Re: "That back-to-front lens hood" - Post yours here.

I think it can benefit being used indoors with some overhead lighting too, apart from the physical protection (which can be a greater risk with door posts & chairs that jump out in front of you).

Re: "That back-to-front lens hood" - Post yours here.

I think it's worth the mechanical protection to always use it. While I was using the 12-60 SWD lens I needed to park the hood to fit it in the bag & I would imagine the 12-100 would be similar in...

Re: Panasonic 100-400

It looks rather good Larry. I'm torn between saving for the 300 F4 Pro or this lens. I say "saving" because my better half has made it clear I won't be buying anything this year, but I'm hoping I...

Re: Wangaratta Camera Club Photo Shoot #01/2019

Maybe, or they got it with the kit & that's where it stays. *shrug

Anyhow, I've started a thread for "That back-to-front lens hood" - Post yours here....

"That back-to-front lens hood" - Post yours here.

As mentioned in another thread (http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?p=472567#post472567), users of certain DSLRs seem to not have a clue what a lens hood is there for & often can be seen...

Re: Wangaratta Camera Club Photo Shoot #01/2019

A nice set Mark, but I have to delve into my evil sense of humour & point out the user of that Canon camera with the lens hood parked back to front on the lens. It would seem the Canon was bought for...

Re: Updated Olympus lens "roadmap"

It’s possible the doubling of that range may mean it will come with Sync IS & cost a fair bit more.

Re: Freezing issues

Then you'll only get to write at up to 95MB/s & not 300MB/s if you put an SDHC II card in slot 1 which (95MB/s) is rather slow for Pro Capture.

Re: Freezing issues

First, assign the SD card 1 & 2 writing (Menu H1 Card Slot Settings) such as SD 1 with an SDHC II (300MB/s) for 'stills' & video to SD 2 that only writes at SDHC I (95MB/s) speed & not writing to...

Re: Can you save/store AF point by orientation?

There might be a possibility for the E-M1 Mk II (especially as they are also bringing a limited amount of Silver models this year), but nothing will come for the E-M1 except compatibility updates now.

Re: My New toy, MMF-3

Tonight I would stick to using the 12-40 Pro lens as it will perform better in the lower light being a constant F2.8 & focus faster with CD-AF. The 12-60 SWD lens, as good as it is is F4 at 60mm (I...

Re: Olympus Workspace - Replacement for OV3

To use an E-M1 Mk II the user is expected to be an advanced amateur or professional, ;) therefore Scene Mode should not be necessary. *shrug
