I glad this was some help.

I have similar issues with my E-M1 and 75-300 using spot hi metering helps with of it but focusing was awful.

Have a look at this depth of Field calculator and you will find that if you try and repeat that with a larger sensor it will not work. The photographer is using stacking to use the sweet spot...
