This is about the state of the art from an earth-based reasonably priced camera.

Re: Can you set the directional pad to press and hold?

To go from one side of the frame to the other simply push the button in the opposite direction and it will jump to the other side, once it reaches an edge. Same for up and down. If you hold one of...

Re: The Moon

The magnification is amazing. I think you are right a shutter speed shorter than 1/500 sec or even faster is needed. Also, getting the focus spot on gets harder. What focal length was the scope?

Re: The Moon

I am going to have a go using the 2 X inbuilt digital teleconverter next chance I get. I had forgotten about it being there until Mark reminded me. It only works with JPGs so I guess there will be...

Re: Death Caused by iPad Battery?

Maybe true or maybe not ?

But, they and other large companies are a target for anyone to have a go and try and get something from them, its life in America ( oh and developing here)

Re: Death Caused by iPad Battery?

I don't hold out a lot of hope of them being successful in their claim for compensation. The article makes a point in saying that Apple has shipped over 2 Billion iPhones and iPads that use lithium...

Re: MC-14 Firmware

Just tried it attached to my 40-150mm and the MC-14 does not appear so I assume it has no firmware. All the updater shows are the lens and the body.

Re: Anyone have a good way to remove filter spots

Not sure what is happening.

Make sure you click on the little target in the saturation tool ( see arrow in pic below)

Then simply click hold and drag down on the brightest part of the flare...

Re: Communal Night-Sky Photography Thread

Very nice indeed.
It's always harder to get the detail as the moon gets nearer to a full moon but this is great.

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

Hawk taken this afternoon. The first is quite a big crop as he was quite a distance this only about 1/8th of the frame.

Re: Show Your Snowdrop Pictures

We have both snowdrops and bluebells in our garden so I don't think they are mutually exclusive. They certainly seem to like the same habitat. The bluebell leaves are coming up nicely and should...

Re: Communal Night-Sky Photography Thread

Thanks.

Yes, I can see the cross-hatching on here as well. I think it might be something to do with the image compression used on this site.

The problem is not due to the filters. If you...

Re: Built in X2 TC

Just tried and it only works if you are shooting jpg. It does work if you shoot both but only the jpg is enlarged.
I have learnt something new today so will assign it a button. Thanks.

Re: Built in X2 TC

I never realised you could do that. Back to RTFM for me. I thought it could zoom to aid focussing but not actually take a shot at 2X.

Re: Communal Night-Sky Photography Thread

Thanks. Not sure why its a mirror image perhaps it was taken using a reflector rather than a refractor scope. It's about 1350 light years away so not sure which way is up or down or left or right,...

Re: Olympus 1.4 mc 14
