Re: New MC 20 announced.

When I got the 300 a couple of years ago I did a brief, rough and ready comparison of it and the 40-150 with and without my MC-14. Hand held, and framing only approximately the same field of view in...

Re: Windows 10 raw image viewer

I see that Crashplan will be withdrawing support from 1803 in November this year: as ever, there are swings and roundabouts over installing updates that vary with different people's use cases.

I'm...

Re: Did I make the right choice?

If it's not a grey import, it's a bargain: https://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/Olympus/Olympus-Micro-43-System-Cameras/Olympus-OM-D-E-M1-Mark-II-Camera-Body

It's cheaper than DigitalRev even if it...

Re: Nothing new from Olympus at Photokina, but...

Maybe astrophotography, as long as the optical performance is good enough at 10mm. Niche market, though.

I suppose combined with a zoom starting around 40mm with/without a teleconverter itíd make...

Re: Playing with PRO capture...

Interesting.

Yes, if that's the speed you need then so be it, and I find the thing to do first is to establish the slowest shutter speed to give critically sharp results in the particular setup...

Re: My M1.2 has a New Wide Eye

There’s quite a lot of information around the web (and on this site) about Astro and how to optimise the particular balance of m4/3 advantages and disadvantages for it.
The basic settings for a...

Re: Duxford 04June

I'll be in touch next time I might be able to go, Paul. A friend of mine lives in Whittlesford and has his ear to the ground to the various events on at the airfield.

Re: Playing with PRO capture...

Nice, Paul!
I’d have thought you’d perhaps be OK at 1/2500 for that sort of shot - certainly worth trying that to eke out the ISO. If it’s not sharp enough, try another click faster, then another.

Re: My M1.2 has a New Wide Eye

Very nice, Mark. I got a mint-condition second hand one last month from one of our reputable U.K. dealers and Iím pleased. I sold my Samyang to contribute to the cost - the Oly is optically a tad...

Just checking before you do an iOS wipe and install (which I agree is a good suggestion) that you have done a simple reset of the iPad? Holding on/off and Home until the Apple symbol appears.

Re: Rumours that Sony has made a 32MP MFT sensor

Yes, I certainly don’t need 32Mp for the (mainly fast moving) stuff I do, and I’d just have to spend more on file storage and processing power, but I would be interested if as a result we gained 2/3...
