Re: Lens protection / Filter

Regarding degradation of picture quality - in my opinion digital is far too sharp so I’m happy with a filter and the minor effects they are claimed to induce.

No one will look at your photos and...

Re: Lens protection / Filter

More than once have I touched the front of a lens with my finger, and glad that I had a filter for protection. Just a quick blow with the rocket and a wipe with a micro fibre and you’re good to go....

Re: Wanted 60mm macro

I can imagine. The Oly 45 is also plastic, a fabulous lens, albeit physically smaller making it feel really solid.
There's a world of difference between the cheap plastic toys that come out of...

Re: Light and film emulsion

Thanks Mark. I'm sure it is obtainable with digital, but I hold my hand up to say I find it hard to replicate. And it's worth noting this was shot using PoundLand (yes, just 1 a roll!) Agfa Vista...

Light and film emulsion

I love the way light paints on film as shown here. I thought I had used a lens hood for this side-lit shot of a charming and willing model in the Cellarium at Fountains Abbey.

Re: May 2018 Photo Challenge Humanity in Action...

Excellent feedback from Paul. He's obviously put in quite a bit of time to put the analysis together. Far longer than it took me and the others to make the clicks.

Re: Pansonic Leica 15mm F1.7

The USP of the 15mm can only be realised on the LUMIX, IMHO.
I recollect discussions on the topic, eg why Olympus decided not to implement the function. The conversation suggested a priority of art...

Re: Thinking of a Filofax

One thing I like about the Filofax - it has the 'backspace' and 'delete' functions - ie unclip, bin-it, and start again.

Re: Thinking of a Filofax

Although retired now, when I was employed it was mandatory to keep a written log book, an A4 book bound and serialised. I also had a 'yard' or more when stacked one on top of the other. Apart from...

Re: Lens cap 15mm v 14-42 2R

In years to come people looking at your images won't say, 'gosh that looks sharp, he must have had a great sensor'. No, they'll look at your images and say, 'that's great, he captured the moment...

Re: PoundLand film

Many of us are culpable to a degree in the way we've changed the way we shop, ie from the high street to the internet. If I'm buying something more that 50, for example, I'll check the shop price...

Re: PoundLand film

PoundLand seem to be ok, don't they, it's Poundworld that are in trouble. But, neither sell the Agfa Vista, it was hasta la vista unfortunately. With hindsight I should have filled the fridge.

Re: Pansonic Leica 15mm F1.7

Food for thought indeed, but I would start by asking yourself whether you're a 15mm (30mm in terms of 135 f/l) person; do you 'see' potential images in the rather wide FoV. A slightly longer FL will...

Re: Lens cap 15mm v 14-42 2R

Re: PoundLand film

Great shame for the employees, and a pitty for photographers that Agfa Vista, aka PoundLand Film, disappeared years ago.
