Re: Steady, you'll have someone's eye out with that!

That is fantastic. Exceptional sharpness and definition, and great behaviour.

And all taking place on the hairiest pair of Scotsman's testicles I've ever seen. *chr

Re: Communal Dragonfly, Butterfly and Insect photo thread

This is a very refined looking bug, I think the name suits it well. I found a nice 8 page guide last time I looked (https://www.nhbs.com/guide-to-shieldbugs-of-the-british-isles-book) but was...

Re: Echinopsis Hybrid Razzle Dazzle (Form)

I still can't, and now feel very lonely.

As soon as I begin to feel somethings possibly happening my brain takes over and I blink and go back to normal.

But I like the flower:)

Re: Communal Dragonfly, Butterfly and Insect photo thread

Thats nice considering the wind problems. Good to be seeing bees. Wish I was.

I'm beginning to see a few hoverflies and bees, but far fewer than I should. We all should be getting far more worried...

Re: Fen Raft Spiders 2019

A fascinating spider and good to see the reintroductions are working. Shame it is so far to travel, but would be a good one to visit.

You might think about entering this in the Suffolk Wildlife...

Re: Communal Dragonfly, Butterfly and Insect photo thread

Harold

Sadly I have watched the fat pigeon nearly breaking the branch (its only a young tree) to gorge itself, I hate pigeons more than squirrels. :)

The blackbirds seem to enjoy the blue...

Re: Communal Dragonfly, Butterfly and Insect photo thread

I love these two images, lovely behaviour very clearly seen. One day I'll get into stereos as I can imagine they give some real added insights.

My grape is usually good for some interesting...

Re: 4 the beady eyed bug-hunters

You are probably right. But I didn't say all. :) But, for me, a few pieces of well constructed research don't make badly conceived ones better. I am sure others could add to the list of good citizen...

Re: Dragon fly emergence image heavy

Alf, some really good shots there. Even better bigger on Flickr

Re: 4 the beady eyed bug-hunters

I am sorry to try and bring sanity to the BBC and other media armchair environmentalists but this is a complete nonsense as so much citizen surveying is. (I include the big butterfly count and others...

Re: Another very rare butterfly having a good year

I had the sigma 150 macro for 4/3 and sold it when I was moving to all micro four thirds. It was slow and not really consistent with autofocus.

A longer macro lens on m4/3 would be very welcome,...

Re: Another very rare butterfly having a good year

Which would be OK if it worked with some other lenses (like the macros and the pro zooms) but that is not going to happen. So it better be worth it in other ways...

Re: Communal flowers, trees, plants and fungi thread

This is so lovely. I have one , just opening, so I am curious about what you used and how you achieved it. In my shots I have not gone that close, but it works really well.*chr
