Re: Iris staying shut?

Thanks Andy it sort of helped in that it has confirmed my initial suspicion.

Re: Advice needed : Helicopter tour

I don't know if it helps but I think that the CAA regulations require a minimum altitude of 500ft when flying above a built up area. Assuming that the Danish regulations are similar you are likely to...

Re: Underwater Bag or Housing for E-5

If you want a housing for an E5 you are looking at the wrong end of 2 grand just for the housing and a single port. You might get a bag but below a couple of metres deep it will be so vacuum packed...

If there isn't a benefit or drawback between the car and the goat why do I really care which door I open?

Re: Underwater camera

Can you definitely not change the ISO with the camera in the housing? I've had a few Olympus housings and I've been able to access all camera features. Are the ISO settings on the camera...

Re: Malham Tarn - Yorkshire Dales

I very much do enjoy #1. Lovely colours plus enough foreground interest to justify the foreground actually being there.

Re: Such a cute smile

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. You both picked up that it is the bottom right corner that is bothering me.

I've had a quick play cropping it as suggested and playing with the levels. ...

Such a cute smile

This little guy (about an inch long) has such a cute smile.

It was taken at about 19m deep on Ras Ghozlani in the Red Sea. The image has just been cropped and resized.

All C&C is most welcome...

Re: Archos 70 & android raw converter app

A quick search on the Android Marketplace:

It suggests support for Olympus OLY raw but like a lot of apps they are all a...

Re: Macro, aperture & sharpness question

Thanks for the replies.

I know about the principles of focus stacking but, if I understand it correctly, it requires a number of frames all focussed at slightly different parts of the subject. ...

Macro, aperture & sharpness question

Having read Ian's article on diffraction softening at smaller apertures I have been trying to keep to f8 or wider. The problem obviously comes when trying to get decent DOF for macro subjects where...

Re: Red Sea underwater

We were doing the "Get Wrecked" tour so the 7-14 got quite a lot of use :D I'll possibly post some of my wreck pictures when I get time to tinker with them. I'm a lot better at macro at the moment...

Re: Red Sea underwater

Some friends dived at Pitsford to recover something that had been dropped from a boat there. The visibility was less than one metre at best so probably more challenging than I would like.

I've...

Re: Red Sea underwater

I have four of the Stix jumbo floats on on the strobe arms. With the ZD 50mm (with or without the EC14) it makes the whole rig pleasantly balanced. With the ZD7-14 and 8" dome port it isn't too bad...

Re: Red Sea underwater

Hi Jamie

I've managed to get the housing fairly well balanced underwater. With the 50mm lens the complete set up only "weighs" about 1Kg underwater (as opposed to about 7Kg above water). If...
