Re: Guess the iso.

Like you, I shoot in raw and don't use in camera noise reduction however, I do use it when editing in LR.

Re: Guess the iso.

I'm certainly going to continue to experiment with the use of high iso and how to correctly ETTR using the histogram.

Here's a link to a video which explains the use of high iso and ETTR on...

Re: Guess the iso.

That's a very good image at such a high iso.

As you say, ETTR seems to be the way to go.

Re: Guess the iso.

This image also helps demonstrate that the E-M1 II can produce decent images a high iso.

Did you do much PP on it?

Re: Guess the iso.

Paul and Ross guessed correctly, this is an iso 6400 image.

As I mentioned, the image was processed in LR, not cropped but resized to upload to the gallery.

I think this shows that the E-M1 II...

Guess the iso.

I haven't been out with my camera for a while so decided to have a go with different settings to those I normally use.

There's nothing special about the image however, I'd be interested to hear...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Why do you refer to it as a DSLR sized beast?

The dimensions given on the Rumors site are: 144.37 x 146.765 x 75.345mm.

It looks very much like my E-M1 II with the grip attached, the...

Re: Olympus 150 - 400

I agree, it is a quality lens.

My wifeís lens was one of the first available in UK, there were a number of early lenses that had problems, I understand Panasonic simply replaced them.

In...

Re: Olympus 150 - 400

The 100-400mm developed a problem not long after we bought it, the lens would randomly start to make a loud whirring sound which I suspect was either the lens stabilisation system or the focus motor...

Re: Olympus 150 - 400

Phill, Iíd recommend spending a bit more and going for the 300mm with the MC-14, the lens is faster even with the TC fitted and there is a difference in the images taken with the Panasonic/Olympus...

Re: Nottingham Knockers: A Threat to You at Home

I canít answer your, very valid, question regarding why the CC was allowed to escape from a speeding fine when driving his own car. The law should apply to everyone even the CC.

Like you, I think...

Re: Nottingham Knockers: A Threat to You at Home

I can understand your frustration Nigel, your wifeís experience would appear to be a clear example of abuse of the justice system.

I suspect the threat of a £1000 fine and six points would be...

Re: Nottingham Knockers: A Threat to You at Home

Agreed however, those who man the static vans equipped with speed cameras are civilians, not Police officers.

Traffic officers do stop people who are speeding but usually give some leeway unless...

Re: Nottingham Knockers: A Threat to You at Home

I think you should have said: Something is wrong with policing these days.

You would be correct as the number of police officers in England and Wales has fallen by over 20,000 between March 2010...
