Re: Amazon, yes, but only for members of 'Prime'

You can usually join Amazon Prime for a free period, after which they start charging. I've done it a couple of times. You have to make sure you cancel before the end of the free period.

Re: Mesmerising

If you watch it at it's normal speed, it isn't so scary. It's so sedate a cyclist could keep up with it!

Re: Far too good to be true?

I've received an email that states that the advert was from a compromised seller's account. I went to my Paypal account and found that the payment hadn't been claimed, so I cancelled it and got my...

Far too good to be true?

I've been looking at 100W solar panel kits on Ebay. They're generally around 100, but I've found one with 2 100W panels for 9.99!

Re: Best practice external hard drives

IIRC there's a Windows driver for the EXT family:

https://www.ext2fsd.com/

I've used it in the past, but use Windows as little as possible nowadays so I can't vouch for it now.

Re: "That back-to-front lens hood" - Post yours here.

Use 'dry silicone spray'. I spray it onto a tissue and wipe the contact surfaces. It works a treat and avoids the dust from graphite. Also wipe it on to the extending barrel of a zoom lens to avoid...

Re: Resolution and Image Quality

My partner's late father is a listed artist and there are several of his paintings hanging in the house. He was born in Koenigsberg, East Prussia (now Kaliningrad, Russia). He served in the Wehrmacht...

Re: Android Image Bug: Patches Needed

You could look at the more active open source ROMs to see if they's been updated - the 'changelogs' should show if they have. 'Lineage' is probably the most actively updated. I use AOSPExtended,...

Re: Frosty and foggy

I'm glad you didn't reduce it to B&W. The hint of colour makes it something special.

Re: Which words do you struggle to spell?

In a sense we do receive nourishment from our own faeces. The natural flora in our gut processes food that we can't, producing nutrients that are subsequently absorbed. Important vitamins are...

Don't be carried away by the 'nice' middle class accent of a vicar's daughter, Mark!

She was a dire Home secretary and stepped in when Cameron resigned, miscalculated a general election and spent...

Re: Lens recommendation

The Four Thirds 35mm f3.5 macro lens is good and can be had for under 100. You need to factor in a 4/3rds to M43 converter though.

Also the Four Thirds 50mm f2 is superb - when it was tested by...
