Re: My latest foray into FF mirrorless - and why I'm sticking with m43

Thanks, it makes a bit more sense now, especially with the dark frame comparison used in long exposures.....

Re: My latest foray into FF mirrorless - and why I'm sticking with m43

Excuse my stupidity, but if the 8 exposures aren't bracketed in any way, what's the difference between these and using a single exposure copied multiple times to create the 8 exposures? What am I...

Re: My latest foray into FF mirrorless - and why I'm sticking with m43

Excellent post, Paul. I won't try and elaborate as others have more or less said it all..... I've also decided to stick with what I have (E-M1) as it's a far better camera than I'll ever be a...

Re: FF or DX as second camera, which would you choose?

Hmmm, the little reading I've done always recommended the pricier zeiss lens. If performance is about the same, I guess it comes down to how much do you value the extra 4mm at the wide end...... I'm...

Re: FF or DX as second camera, which would you choose?

I'd go for FF myself; not enough of a difference between m43 and APS-C to warrant buying unless it was a total system change.

Obvious one is the Sony A7 III & 28-70mm (not the best lens) for...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

Apart from a brief foray into Nikon APS-C for six months, I've stuck with Olympus since 2004, but really don't like the way this is going. It's not that what I've got isn't good enough, for now at...

Mint Panasonic DMC-LX100 & Extras

I've decided to sell my Panasonic LX100 (Black) to fund another bit of photo kit. Excellent condition, and absolutely no sensor dust (some people seem to have an issue with this).

Camera comes in...

Re: Geotagging photos

You can get a decent Android phone with good battery life for 80 upwards these days..... I've bought a couple recently for my daughters and have been shocked at how good they are for the money........

Re: A year on

Welcome back. I too have been through periods of not picking up the camera. For me it's usually a time issue. Too busy at work. Family issues. Lengthy daily commute. Jobs around the house needing...

Winston (Looks a Bit Like Churchill!)

My daughter's new 9-week old French bulldog, Winston..... lovely wee guy, and much easier to photograph than her cats were!

In Trouble!

Right, I think I'm in trouble....

Daughter Riley Rose (age 4) said to me this afternoon, "Daddy, what's specular refraction?"

Seriously, she did....Eh? What? Erm?

Of course I was able to...

Re: LX100 or GM5 Body

Yeah, I'm never too fussed about the whole out of camera colour thing, as I normally process the raw files anyway....... it was more a physical size issue for me than anything else.

Re: LX100 or GM5 Body

Thanks, Paul. I never had any issues with my last LX100, but I guess that doesn't really mean much. Foibles aside, I did like it a lot though. GM5 looks like a good buy as well, although prices are...

LX100 or GM5 Body

OK, it's coming up to holiday time, and I refuse to take a bag full of gear that I know will end up sitting in the apartment - if anyone has any of the above (in black) I may be interested in...

Re: EM5 Body and HLD-6

Hard to believe what these are selling for now - I think I paid something like 1200 for my M5 and grip when it was first released! Good luck with the sale......

Re: BLH-1 Clone Tests

This thread has just convinced me to buy an original Olympus item.... Less expensive would be very nice, but it is what it is, so I'll just have to grin and dig deep..... [emoji4]

Olympus OM-D E-M10 II Body & Grip

My mint little E-M10 II is for sale as I've bought an E-M1. Only 1028 shutter count, and comes with metal grip which makes a huge difference to the handling (the lens shown is not included). Also...
