First Snows at Glen Affric

I mentioned in an earlier post that I was recently in sunny climes so it was good to return to more familiar territory when Iain(MacD) and I headed to Glen Affric yesterday. It was somewhat of a...

Re: HLD‑9 question

I concur with Mike. This is also how I operate. My tripod plate covers the battery access on my camera but I always have access to the grip battery on or off the tripod.

Re: Manfrotto compatible Arca plate for E-M1 II?

Ian. I'm still using my Velbon tripod and the plate covers much of the battery compartment on my EM1 Mk II. For that reason I don't even put a battery in the camera, using only a battery in my HLD-9...

Re: Hong Kong Part 1 - Hazy Day

Nice set Jason, the last also gets my vote. Not wishing to be too 'picky', the warship in 4 is actually an Arleigh Burke class DDG 'USS Michael Murphy'.

Re: Lightroom and Using Custom Whitebalance

I generally only shoot RAW but to see what a RAW/JPEG comparison would be like in LR I used the RAW Data Edit function on the camera to produce the JPEG. I was initially surprised that the resulting...

Re: Lightroom and Using Custom Whitebalance

Graham, thanks for the link. The DNG Profile Editor may offer a long term solution to me trying to correct each image I take with the 8 stop filter. Certainly I have never been able to get...

Re: Lightroom and Using Custom Whitebalance

Thanks Ian. I know (or understand anyway from internet research) that White Balance appears to be one of the values that LR does read across with the RAW file. I have proved this to myself by...

Re: Imagine: Olympus want you to design their next camera.

You are probably right about it not happening Iain - unless enough of us 'dinosaurs' shout for it. An E-7 gets my vote, newer sensor with improved dynamic range but would like to see Live Bulb/Time...

Re: Setting custom WB via grey card

Hi Margaret. To set custom WB on my E-5 I have to use a white target, not a grey card. If it doesn't find white I get a fail message that may be similar to yours. I know you have tried using a white...
