Re: E-M1 and Sony A7R comparison (warning - lots of images)

That's possible, but I did try to focus on the trees. In any case at f4 I think both the shed and the trees are within the DOF for a u43 sensor. The fact that the shed and the trees are in focus...

Re: Olympus reveals optically stabilised m.Zuiko 300mm f/4 telephoto

Dear All,

At the risk of being rude , I think you are all missing the point! This lens is much more exciting than you think. Take a look at these samples from slrgear. Look at the...

Re: Firmware v4.0 Silent Shutter issues

I agree Ross (and the E-M10 MkII is the same BTW).

Re: Shutter speed using electronic shutter.

It does flash for me when longer than an 1/8 sec in Aperture Priority mode & when pushed up to Auto ISO 3200 (with 75-300 lens on).

Re: Fireworks using Live Comp

If it was me, I'd set the camera to manual ISO 100, aperture to any value really say f4 and just before the fireworks started open the shutter using a remote release and hold it until I was happy I...

Re: Why?

Hi there PVASC!

I think it could be a focussing issue - it looks to me as if the nearest wing is in sharp focus, the back wing looks quite sharp too but it is much lower in contrast to the blue...

Re: Why?

My assumption would be since you were using 9 focus points that the wings are much larger with much more vertical contrasting detail than the small head with only the beak that is horizontal that...

Re: Why?

It's hard to tell because of the size of the photo on my screen but I'm not certain the head is out of focus, I think the out of focus branch behind it creates an illusion the head is oof.
If I...

Re: Is C-AF actually improved with v3.0?

Well, I am totally convinced that CAF works beautifully at 9fps, so long as the camera body is in portrait mode.

I spent yesterday at or local Bournemouth Air Festival in pretty dire light...

That condensation in the low-pressure regions above the wings is a great catch. Nice shot!

Re: Olympus 9-18 m4/3

I have both. They're quite different lenses. The 12mm is the better optic (as it should be given that it's both more expensive and a prime), but 9mm is notably wider then 12mm and of course since...

Re: Hi all I'm new here - help needed please :)

Hi I think you are more likely to get what you want, from the 40 to 150mm lens at about 70mm to 80 mm wide open and have her further from the people than from you set the lens wide open as this will...
