My son is probably going to be heading off to Lancaster University this coming Autumn so we were up there for a visit. I've never been up to Lancaster before so it was interesting to see the campus...

That's a cracker. The 100-400 is quite a lens really. I reckon that it's 95% of the sharpness of the 300 f4, but the zoom makes it a much more versatile option. It's a pity that Oly and Panasonic...

I've tried it on a number of images - 16 and 20 Mp m43 imagess and also from a few other cameras like the Fuji xe1 and Sony A7rii and have failed to see any difference at all.

I don't think anyone could have expected a 12-200 lens to be a good performer. However, at £800 it's just crazy money for what's basically kit-lens quality. Maybe it's just a sign of the times...

At £800 though, it's hardly cheap. I think I'd prefer a used 12-40 and 40-150 combo - probably not a lot more. Maybe £1100 total if you catch a bargain.

Biggest annoyance on the EM1.2 is that in moving to dedicated custom settings rather than assigning mysets to mode dial positions we've gone from 4 to 3 configurable customised dial slots.

MTF seems pretty poor at 12mm in the edges.

You can't go wrong with the 17/1.8, or the Panasonic 15/1.7 or even the Panasonic 20/1.7. The little Panasonic 12-32 is excellent too and very compact.
