Re: Avebury

Thanks Richard. I've always liked the look of those Zero Image cameras. And that shot is truly spectacular.

Re: The Art of Seeing

Thanks - hopefully I can get the enlarger up and running again soon and do some properly warm toned prints.

Re: Avebury

Thanks. The RSS 5x4 is definitely challenging to use. For one thing it has an ultra wide field of view, something like 9 or 10mm as a 35mm equivalent.

Harman Direct Positive Paper is also quite...

Re: Slide Scanner.

I bought an Epson 4990 for 50 - that's what all my film is scanned with. It's the predecessor of the V700 and can scan film from 35mm up to 10x8. Pretty much does everything I need it to.

The...

Re: The Art of Seeing

I've only used it in 5x4 but I love it - not least because it's half the price of other films! I haven't tried it for IR though.

The Art of Seeing

I recently came across a photographer whose work and life are truly remarkable and inspirational - Ken Keen FRPS.

First of all I thoroughly recommend watching this video about Ken - it's 20...

Re: Couple of shots on Velvia 50

I have a film holder from betterscanning.com (http://www.betterscanning.com/scanning/vb_mfholder.html) - it was actually for the V500 but works perfectly well with the 4990. I use the Epson holder...

Re: Couple of shots on Velvia 50

Indeed - I don't have one, so far I haven't had a problem with just taking the prism off and composing on the screen.

Re: Couple of shots on Velvia 50

Thanks Nigel. You can get a waist level finder for the H1 as well. :)

I use an Epson 4990 that I bought for 50 and use the bog standard Epson Scan software. The 4990 was the predecessor of the...

Re: Hasselblad H1

Thanks Keith.

Thanks Simon. Would love to visit Japan. Maybe one day...

The H3DII is probably a much better digital camera than the previous H cameras, including the H3D (one integrated...

Re: Hasselblad H1

Ah OK, it's more than 4 times the size then. It's double the size of 35mm full frame.

And thanks!

Re: Couple of shots on Velvia 50

I also have a CPE2. Jobos are quite popular now so if it's in good condition, and if you're prepared to post it, you would probably get between 250 and 500.

I also have an LPL enlarger, but...

Re: Couple of shots on Velvia 50

No indeed, I love it. And no, not so good for portraits - but for me that's what B&W film is for anyway.

Re: Couple of shots on Velvia 50

Thanks - and yes I do process E6 myself. Been doing it for about 5 years now. I have a Jobo processor which helps, although I have done it in the kitchen sink before.

Thanks!

Re: Couple of shots on Velvia 50

Indeed there are - a dozen I think, variants of the 500EL/M (motordriven bodies). The H1 is certainly not as pretty as a V System Hasselblad, but I find it more practical to use.

Here are three...

Couple of shots on Velvia 50

Although I love my Olympus SLRs, my most used camera by a long way is a Hasselblad H1 which I acquired last April. I do have a digital back for the H1 (a Phase One P25) but I mostly use it with film,...

New Year's Day Swim, Barry Island

The New Year's Day Swim is held every year on Barry Island. I haven't ventured on to the beach to photograph the craziness before but decided to give it a go this year with my Olympus OM-4ti and some...
