Re: Strathdearn

Great set Iain.

I really enjoy photographing Mountain Hares, I don't think I'll have the opportunity this Winter though.

Re: Lights, Camera, Mushroom!

Thank you.

It does help that I was able to move the piece of host wood in order to get the shots, the WP had kindly appeared on a piece of dead wood/branch.

Re: Lights, Camera, Mushroom!

Thanks John.

It does have subtle colouring, I found it interesting to experiment with light from different angles, I think the first image gives a more accurate rendition of the WP.

Re: Lights, Camera, Mushroom!

Thanks Harold.

The stem is actually white, the purple tinge in the second image was caused by the angle of the torchlight and the shadows I think.

Re: Lights, Camera, Mushroom!

Thanks Paul.

I used the 60mm macro lens for all the recent shots of the WP, it's a great little lens.

Re: The Wrinkled Peach reaches the mature stage.

Thanks again John.

I think I'll give dimensions the next time I refer to a subjects size in future, it is hard to identify the size of even macro subjects that someone hasn't seen before.

I...

Re: The Wrinkled Peach reaches the mature stage.

Thank you, I used Helicon Focus to stack the images.

I'm still learning how to use the program however, I've been pleased with the images it can produce so far.

Re: The Wrinkled Peach reaches the mature stage.

Thanks John.

You're spot on, I've given nothing to show a sense of scale, sorry about that.

Looking at the top image, at this stage of its life cycle it measures 3cm across the head from left...

The Wrinkled Peach reaches the mature stage.

Another couple of images of the Wrinkled Peach fungi as it reached the mature stage.

I hope I'm not boring anyone with the images of this mushroom, I think it's an amazing little thing.

I couldn't resist having another visit...

Re: Bempton Memories

Thanks Ed.

I don't recall the type of fish however, I understand that they're a catch that isn't sold for human consumption.

The Gannets were keen on them though.

Thanks Phil.

The Puffin was taken with the 300mm f4, the Gannets were taken with the 40-150mm Pro, at 40mm if I recall correctly.
