Re: Foreign hire car CDW insurance
I hired a car in Majorca and bizarrely CDW covered everything apart from the roof of the car.
In another experience in Greece I hired a car from Hertz and was extremely glad to have taken CDW. There...

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...
This is a cracking speech by our future Prime Minister, Michael Gove. It’s sure to go down in history and it won’t be too surprising if Comrade C was sorry he instigated a vote of no confidence....

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...
The trouble with Comrade Corbyn is that he’s a very angry disruptive politician who shouts persistently. Anyone behaving like that in business would be kicked out of meetings, and ultimately sacked.

Re: How to Post Photos?
I think the reason maybe something to do with how the forum s/w treats pictures in the album c.f. the gallery. Currently I have a duplicate set of some in both, but now I know which works I will...

Re: Weirdest SALE
Nigel, Silverfast is better than some make out. It is true that the user interface is confusing at first sight, but in reality you need very few selections to get the best out of the negative.
I...

Re: Weirdest SALE
Due to the light source the 7xx series have a longer warm up time.
I'm rather keen to get into Holga 120, and maybe instant film, so a flatbed scanner would be ideal for me. I'm currently using a...

Re: Weirdest SALE
V700/V750 and V800/V850 have minor changes as far as I'm aware, such as cold cathode v LED. The 8xx's have twin lens but I'm not sure about the 7xx series. Many are happily using the 7xx film holders...

Re: Weirdest SALE
Park Cameras have the V800 for a tad more at £449, with free delivery. That's new, not second hand, but as you intimated the later Epson neg holders aren't up to much, so the all-up cost would go up...

Not a fan of hypertext links - unless I'm guilty of posting such myself. :)
I mentioned this myself on a page or seven back from here. It would help greatly if individuals would provide a précis,...

Re: Norwich to London - Holga plastic lens
The results from the 'toy'* Holga sit somewhere between full-on pinhole and that from a 'proper' lens. Fantastic work AMc!
It's a pity that too many digital photographers are too busy chasing...

Re: New homes 'crumbling due to weak mortar'
At the molecular level the constituents of mortar and concrete form ionic bonds and have 5 slip planes being characteristic of ceramics. On a macro scale concrete has larger grains and fillers...

Re: A snap off a bridge...
Hi Walti, I'm not 100% certain what your intention was with the shot. Lots of visual info to sort out. Is it more about the background or the person walking, or possibly both?

Re: silent shutter - underexposure
Rob,
Light is a tricky thing! It sounds like the situation is EV 4 or 5 at a guess. I would consider using an incident lightmeter and maybe comparing with a spot reading whilst exposing for shadows....
