I use Macphun SnapSelect it is super fast in action groups images by date and similar worth a download and try it out.

Having put the Mark 2 at test during some field sessions I would say yes. (I had some issues getting the C-AF to work proporly but that turned out to be caused by misunderstanding of how if works).

The f/w install does restore the C1/C2/C3 settings.
However currently it does not restore the Shutter speed & aperture values (if you have set drive mode = Manual for the Custom settings).
