Re: Lightscribe

If you are going to use a picture as label, convert it to B&W then slide the contrast and brightness bars until you see approximately half the shades of gray from the original. Set printer to "best"...

Re: E3 highlight clipping

I have been using CS4 ACR to rescue blown highlights and so far the highlight recover slider did the job. I have never used Lightroom but it should be very similar to ACR. What I have been doing is...

Fatastic shots! DOF are all great. I imagine that you shot these with the 50-200mm SWD. Again, well done...

If you are visiting North Vietnam, don't miss Ha-Long Bay tour. It is a must see and it is not far from Ha Noi.

Re: First Impressions

I play with one at the local store and kind of like it too. The slow AF is a major weakness but the MF is not bad at all! It is probably the best solution for low light and focus lock difficulty....

Re: Manfrotto 190xdb and 486rc2

I have the 190XB and 486RC2 ball head. I love the ball head and found the latch works very well with the quick snap and lock mounting plate. The heaviest gear I mounted on it regularly are the E-3...

Re: Some shots taken with the 18-180

I had this lens on my E-500 as my sole lens for almost two years and had taken at least 4,000 shots with it. I have had some exceptional shots with it but none of them were knocked-out sharp. With...

Re: ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 70-300mm 1:4.0-5.6

Here are some of my shots with 70-300mm and the E-3. It took me at least four months to get the best out of this very sharp but slow lens.

Pictures from Europe

I took two week vacation in Europe lugging along the E-3, 14-54mm as the main lens and the 70-300mm. The E-3 proved to be very worthy in Amsterdam and in southern Bavarian because it was rainning and...

Re: This years first trip to Skomer... and the obligatory Puffin

It is such a odd bird despite being colorful; and a face only a Puffin can love.

Re: Noise Levels

Even if noise level set at "Standard", the E-30 picture seems a little too noisy at ISO-800 to me. I get this with no noise reduction on the E-3 from RAW format.

Re: Noise Levels

Steve,

Have you tried to compare the E-410 and E-30 pictures using the RAW files? were noise levels the same on both cameras?

Re: Bird Shots

I like the Eagle shot. I too have been enjoying and becoming comfortable with my 70-300mm. As I got used to the lens, the shot keeps getting better.

More Bird Shots with 70-300mm

I am still having fun with 70-300mm. I just set up a bird feed and found a corner to hide. I finally got real close to the dove today. I think the 70-300 is an outstanding lens for the money ($287 in...

Doves shooting with 70-300mm

I just want to try out the 70-300mm after updating the new firmware. Over all, with the E-3, I felt a slight improvement in AF speed. This is on a sunny day with single point focus with IS on.
