Re: Anyone know where I can get battery end caps?

Welcome aboard, Sue. There was a thread about this only last month:

There might be some leads in there worth following.

Wally mentioned a...

Re: The beauty of Mull.

A very atmospheric set. I love the last one with the rolling green grass and the islands looking tiny in the vast blue sea. And imagining what it would be like on a stormy day in January!

Re: Mt Bromo & Papuma beach Adventure.

Thanks for sharing these Henry. The early starts sound grim and I've no doubt you were knackered :) but you've got some wonderful photos and memories that will last a lifetime.

Re: A Monochrom(e) Oly?

Going back to Ian's original thoughts again, what would Oly get from selling a B&W-only body? I suspect that for the system cameras it would be a very niche market, possibly even more limited than...

Re: A Monochrom(e) Oly?

You are of course quite correct to say that capturing the original colours gives greater flexibility in the B&W conversion. And it seems that Steve (Ricoh) and Alf are made of sterner stuff than me...

Re: A Monochrom(e) Oly?

To go back to Ian's original question, I think there are two reasons why we might want to use a mono-only camera - the technical and the mental.

We have already talked about most of the technical...

Re: Eclipse of the moon

I don't think you are doing anything wrong Henry. When the moon is in total eclipse there is very little light falling on it - just the red that is refracted through earth's atmosphere. We can see it...

Re: Send In The Clowns

The guy looks as if he is trying to smoke his phone which probably has a camera that takes photos and videos - so he has all the bases covered.

Truly professional piece of civil disobedience!

I think you are right, Chris, although others who have used them with those bodies will be able to give better feedback. Depending on your subject and shooting style it might not be a problem in...

It will still be difficult! For our previous challenges we sent messages to the person running it with our 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices. Of course, this is more complicated than pressing the Like button...

Re: Battery Terminal Caps/Covers

I can never remember which battery is which, but if the BLN-1 is the one for the original E-M5 and E-M1, our forum friend Beagletorque designed and 3-D printed some holders for them which work very...

Thanks for the extra photos Antonio, interesting to see the stone in context.

Re: turning off screen

I'm not sure about the details with the E-M10, but somewhere in the EVF section of the menus you ought to be able to find a setting for something like "Eye detect" whihc probably defaults to "On" -...

Fascinating colours and textures in the stone - the top half looks like blue cheese! Is that one of the marble quarries up Estremoz way, Antonio?

Re: Is Olympus developing a new 150-400mm PRO Zoom?

Thinking about this a little more seriously (while trying to suppress the gear envy, of course :) ), I wonder if it would? The two big monsters in the old 4/3 line-up were the 300/2.8 fixed and the...

Re: Is Olympus developing a new 150-400mm PRO Zoom?

That would be lovely - but it would also be huge and expensive. Front glass would have to be 100mm wide, so only marginally smaller than a 300mm f/2.8. The 4/3 300/2.8 and 90-250/2.8 are roughly this...
