Re: Shortage of Prime Utlra Wides

I have the PanaLeica 8-18mm, no complaints thus far, relatively small and lightweight
for a f/2.8-4.0 lens.
Can also use filters with no special adapters, a definite bonus over the Olympics 7-14

Re: Berlin 2019

Some good ones there, particularly like the Ampelmännchen deck chairs.
Jaywalking still very much frowned upon especially from the older East Berlin residents

Re: Best 25mm choice

The picture showing them together may be an optical illusion, but I doubt it.

Re: Best 25mm choice

My choice is the PanaLeica 25mm and a non reversing hood isn't enough to put me off
I use one of the screw on vented faux rangefinder hoods with a lens cap on the end.

In contrast the Sigma is...

Re: Panasonic 8-18mm

Going to buy one later on today, direct replacement for my Fuji 10-24 which I used a fair bit.
In fact took just that one lens on a trip to Berlin and didn't miss anything longer.

Got a couple of holidays coming up where this lens would come in very handy.

Olympus 12-40 or Panasonic 12-35?

Olympus 12-40 or Panasonic 12-35?

A choice I have often pondered, got the former and now acquired the latter (newer Mkii version)
I use Panasonic bodies so wondered how the 12-35 would perform...

Re: Noise issues

I do wonder if the light was just too low and noise especially in the shadows is unavoidable.
Any attempt to lift details only accentuates the noise, had a similar issue myself last weekend

Re: Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8

There are loads about, but its about getting the right one.
As in no or light dust at a sensible price that can be resold if I prefer the 12-40

Still keeping getting the itch to try one of these against my 12-40mm
Sold a few bits lately so seems like a good time to scratch that itch before the cash gets spent on Eurostar fares.

Got one...

Re: Advice on lenses
