Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

From what I can see we have 78 MEP's, so only about 12% of the number of Westminster MP's. I haven't got a clue who our MEP is, which is just the point; I think they are so remote to most people that...

Re: How are we going to save the planet?

Wireless charging is convenient but not very efficient. It is a bit like a transformer except that the windings are a long way apart from each other. It is only accepted because the power involved is...

Re: Potential new job in Birmingham... worth it?

I wouldn't even think about driving into Birmingham on a regular basis.

Brum has a good public transport network so you could conceivably commute in whilst continuing to enjoy living in...

Re: A Different View on our Finances

Venezuela seems to be getting close to bankruptcy despite its mineral wealth.

Give Jeremy a five year term and we may well follow. :(

Re: Autumn colours - North

Last year we had quite a long autumn, but with the heat and very dry weather this year this year we are expecting another short one.

A lot of leaves have already fallen although it depends very...

Re: Autumn colours

That depends what you mean by 'Northern'? ;)

Many southerners think Yorkshire or even Derbyshire is in the far north and worry that they'll fall off of the edge if they go any further. :D

I don't think we have ever been in synch with Europe have we? ;)

The French interconnector does run through the channel tunnel, but the Dutch and Irish interconnectors are subsea...
