Re: The Hunter and his Prey

That is a very clear shot Paul, especially as it was taken through double glazing. I had two Wood Pigeons killed by Sparrow Hawks in my garden recently (both while I was out.) The garden was...

Re: The Photography Show: other new gear

I believe the deal also includes a grip and genuine Panasonic battery as well. That is amazing. Why on earth would anybody purchasing m43 gear choose the expensive Olympus options instead?

Re: Olympus Workspace - first update.

I have version 1.0.0 installed but when I attempt to update as above it tells me that I am already using the latest version and there is no need to update.

I am not bothered as I can't get on with...

Re: First Run out with my OM-D EM-1

I don't think you need much advice. They look good to me, especially the dog walker.

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

Hi Phill. The first two egrets are indeed Little Egrets but the third one looks like a Cattle Egret to me (a nice find.) The 'tern' is a Black-headed Gull.

Re: Tits Nest

I have an Exif Viewer extension which I downloaded for Firefox. If I right click on the image I can choose to view the exif data. It works well, provided the exif data hasn't been removed by the...

Re: Tits Nest

To me the first one looked cleaner with more detail. I have just checked the exif data. Phew, that's a relief.

Re: Widows and pipes

That's a strong, geometric image Alf. I like it. From the thread title I was expecting it to be something to do with Scottish Widows. Maybe that sultry lady in a black, hooded cape. :)

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

Very nice Barr1e. It seems you finally found some good light to put the M1X through its paces.

Three of the fourteen Purple Sandpipers feeding on the jetty at Ness Point, Lowestoft on Saturday. Apparently this is the largest number seen there for twenty one years.

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

I know it is extremely early days at the moment but I have yet to see any shots taken with the M1X by an 'ordinary' owner which couldn't have been captured just as well with the 1 Mk2. Hopefully,...

Re: Dust off your old lenses! - or Kingfisher 2

That's a good one Phill. I have a copy of that lens somewhere but I haven't used it for years. My main complaint with it is the horrible whining noise it makes as it focuses. It is a bit embarrassing...

Re: New Olympus OMD - EM1X ?

I tried BBF briefly but it didn't work for me as I found it hard to support the weight of the camera (especially with the 300mm f4 attached) and reach the button with my thumb. Perhaps my hands are...

Re: Don't judge a camera by reviews, but by it's potential.

I assume WEX will now have an 'open box' Pen F to sell off at a reduced price. At least somebody will gain from it.

A Good Review by a Landscape Photographer

Here is a nice, practical review of the E-M1X by a landscape photographer. OK, he is another Olympus Visionary, so the unconvinced will say that it is meaningless but he seems to be convinced by the...

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

I have seen lots of Long Tailed Tits recently but they have all been feeding high up in trees, surrounded by tangled twigs, like this one. It would be nice to see one at eye level for a change and my...
