Re: The reality is that the e-group needs your help

No joy for me Ian, I'm using the latest version of Safari and I cannot change the amount from 0.00. I should add, this is via the 'donate button' on the home page.

I am more than happy to donate...

Re: Pansonic Leica 15mm F1.7

The Pana/Leica 15mm is a superb lens and will have a FOV similar to that of your iPhone. The lens on the phone is I believe equivalent to 28mm on a 35mm camera and the 15mm Pana/Leica equivalent to...

Re: The appeal of digital photography

Well I have just bought a brand new Nikon F6 ... yes they are still making them. Launched in 2006 a few are hand built each week by a team of two ( apparently ) which means it has been in production...

Re: In praise of WEX

Hey Roger that H1 is a superb camera, such a pleasure to use. Do you still have your 500 series? If so you can use those leaf shutter lenses on the H series too, all you need is the 'CF' adapter,...

Re: In praise of WEX

Like you Steve I regularly look at various sites, especially Ffordes. I have had many a fine camera or lens from them. Actually they currently have a very nice Nikon F3 and F2 Photomic that are...

Re: Pen-F owners, tell me the truth.

Personally I take no notice of reviews, if a camera 'interests' me I'll get one in my hands and see what 'I' think. So what do I think? ..... well I have two;) ..... one black, one silver so I'll...

In praise of WEX

I have to say I am very impressed with WEX Photographic!

Over the past seven days their service and communication has been 'second to none'. My recent P/Ex and purchase was my first dealing with...

Re: No more parts for E-m5 mk1

I think this will become 'the new norm' , Leica have been doing it for quite some time now. It's good to hear that you got a Mk2 for an extremely modest outlay.

Re: No more parts for E-m5 mk1

Hi John,

Quite true, but my point is in essence directed at the 'EU Directive' which number I cannot remember but came into force in the mid 2000's. It first came to my attention when Kyocera...

Re: No more parts for E-m5 mk1

Yes Richard, it's 10 ( yep TEN ) years "after discontinuation" and not from the launch date so Oly are really falling foul on that EU directive. Makes you wonder if all these EU directives are...

Re: 90-250/2.8 is it worth getting?

As Phil has said ... have a great trip Ian. I am sure you will have plenty of photo's to edit upon your return. As it happens I'm off to the Far East at the end of October, one week based in Tokyo...

Yep, I've owned it and sold it TWICE for those very reasons.

Re: How long does it take you to fire off 36?

"Beast from the East" ... I like it Steve, and very witty/apt too. It's actually very ergonomic though not as much as the F6. Looking our for a nice F4 now which actually are crazy cheap in Japan so...

Re: How long does it take you to fire off 36?

Well Steve, I recently acquired a 'final production year' Nikon F5, yep I know ... it's a brick, but I just had to have one. At 8 frames a second it apparently is the only 35mm film SLR that can be...

Re: EM1MK11 low price

They are a bona-fide UK dealership so the stock will be official 'Olympus Europe' . That's a more 'market realistic' price, was IMO way overpriced at launch, I'm a retailer ( not photographic )...

Re: New 35mm 'film' SLR

On the face of it, it does indeed seem 'too' cheap John, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be brought to market for that figure or close to it. 3D printing is mentioned in the article plus the use...

Good morning Steve,

It's the one Leica I have held onto. Digital technology is advancing/evolving at such a pace the monetary value of the equipment assuming you purchase 'new' is rapidly eroded....

Re: New 35mm 'film' SLR

Ah but film isn't obsolete Jim, plenty still shoot it, in fact its usage is 'rapidly' growing just as vinyl is making a strong comeback. Neither will likely reach the same levels as in their heydays...
