Re: Little Brown Adder

They do keep out of our way! The easiest snake to see is a grass snake as they often swim across rivers, lakes and ponds. Adders have been persecuted and are extinct in some counties. A good place to...

Re: Options available?

I would suggest trying your 100-400mm at 300mm where it will be f5.7 and allow your ISO to go higher, even up to 3200 if necessary. Also for Barn Owls you can dial in at least -1 exposure...

Re: Wing flitter or DOF

I also like to carry just one lens when birding, but also take other subjects when I can.

At 400mm I try to stand back and use F9 or F11 and then crop the subject in post.
This comma was taken...

Loving the new small focus point

The new small focus point which was added with the latest firmware is great for photographing shy animals who like to hide away.

Water Rail, Cetti's Warbler x 2 and Muntjac fawn.

Re: Broken Leica DG 8-18mm

Is that deliberate so that if the camera / lens is dropped then the camera mount is less likely to be damaged.

I can't see my buying another 100-400mm if my one gets a problem. Surely Panasonic...

Re: How Big is the MC-14?

I've had mine since it was introduced and it's been fine. The only thing I have noticed is that it gave a bit of front focus with the 300/4 and needed a +5 AF adjustment.

Re: Olympus 8mm Bodycap vs Samyang 7.5mm - thoughts?

Also bodycap has 140 angle of view , Samyang has 180. That makes quite a difference in use.

Re: Salisbury nerve agent - just what the hell is that stuff?

And the French are questioning it now. It was a shame a few more didn't question the WMD in Iraq. Just because a PM thinks something doesn't make it true.

Re: Any one do birds in flight with the EM1MK1

Re: Any one do birds in flight with the EM1MK1

You could try one out using the Test & Wow scheme: https://wow.olympus.eu/

Camerworld has had a couple of deals with the Mk II at 1299 recently.

Re: Any one do birds in flight with the EM1MK1

Mine were taken with the 40-150mm F2.8 + MC-14 and Huw's shows as 210mm on Flickr so I would assume the same combination. That was the best setup for birds before the 300mm f4 and 100-400mm arrived.

Re: Any one do birds in flight with the EM1MK1

Some more examples to show that it is possible with the Mk I but you would get many more keepers with the Mk II.
