Thanks for that. I can't remember. I know I did an update on the "kit" lenes, but can't remember if I had the 70-300 mm then. Will check it out tomorrow.

Switch set to AF. I think I might be asking the flash to work at to great a distance? This all a steep learning curve to me.

Very very helpful thanks. Yes to using 70-300mm lens with darker photos. Slow AF on the 70-300mm but also on the 40-150mm lenes.

i have just bought a second hand 70-300mm lens. Was just wondering if it is worth fitting a UV filter to protect it. Is there any downside to having one fitted?
