Re: E-M1 Mkii Menu settings spreadsheet

Keith
This spreadsheet contains 3 pages. They are named "Settings", "Custom_Modes" & "Notes".
By design the spreadsheet will initially open showing the "Notes" page (so that new users can see what...

Re: Manfrotto compatible Arca plate for E-M1 II?

Not sure about Manfrotto compatability, but for an ARCA clamp I use a RRS B6 plate - with a piece of bike inner tube glued to the plate between it and the camera body so that the lip on the plate...

Re: How Big is the MC-14?

Ron,
No problems with mine, which Iíve had since they first shipped in 2014.
It looks like a solidly made piece of kit.

Re: How Big is the MC-14?

Ron
The 14.7mm dimension is from mounting - face to mounting face (i.e. the overall length increase when mounted on lens & camera). This dimension excludes the internal hump which protrudes approx...

Re: Digital and Analogue compared

Peter,
This isn't just a modern phenomena.
As I recall, the Stalinist era brought about a wealth of expertise in 'Photoshopping' analogue images.
Some may also say that Ansel Adams' printing...

Re: Broken Leica DG 8-18mm

Alf,
A further thought. Now that Panasonic have said the lens is not repairable, have you considered making a claim for accidental damage on your household contents insurance - it should be within...

Re: Broken Leica DG 8-18mm

Alf,
Sorry to see this. I had a similar experience with Panasonic a few years ago when my Pan Leica 14-150 4/3 lens developed a fault with the zoom ring.

My conclusion (following some limited...

Re: LR Backups

I do likewise - keeping only the last 2 or 3 catalog backups. Each of my catalog backups is currently ~3.6GB. I regard these backups as protection against catalog corruption/loss on the PC I use...

Re: Lightroom

Dave,
LR version 6.9 (March 2017 update) was the first version to fully support the E-M1 mkii.
The latest (last) version of standalone LR is 6.14 (December 2017 update).

If you purchase any...

Re: Firmware Update

Good to know.

It would be good if the (freestanding) Camera Updater program checked for updates to itself.

After seeing the posts on this forum regarding Updater v2.1, I googled for it. The...

Re: Woodpecker on the bird feeder

Fine shots - I guess the OOF is inevitable given the very shallow Depth of Field for a wide open 300 + MC14 at that close range.

Re: Firmware Update

This User Manual Update is as half-baked as I have come to expect from Oly's Tech Lit department

There is short section (p191 - 194) which 'describes' the changes - however the tables of...

Re: E-M1 Mkii Menu settings spreadsheet

I've created a new version of the settings spreadsheet which includes the changes corresponding to Firmware release v2.0.

To access this see the 2nd zip file in the OP this thread

Re: A settings question

Mike
You can do this on the E-M1 Mkii using the Fn Lever.
In Manual Mode with the Fn Lever in Position 1 the dials adjust Shutter Speed and Aperture.
Then flicking the Fn Lever to position 2...

Re: First try at an image share from flickr

Phil,
Great light in the foreground.
I'd be inclined to tone down (or remove?) the blue panel on the central building in front of Hollins Hill as this seems unduly distracting.

Re: E-M1 Mkii Menu settings spreadsheet

Allan,
Thanks for the comments. Glad it is useful for you.

Absolutely not. In fact on the copy I use to record my camera settings I have done precisely that (i.e. frozen the title row). I'll...

Re: Pen-F - Firmware 3.0

I wonder if there will be many Pen-F owners attaching it to the mighty PanLeica 200mm F2.8? :)

I agree wholeheartedly. Perhaps those forum members visiting the Photography Show next month should all resolve to give the Olympus Sales managers some serious earache on this topic.

Re: Firmware Update

I think this assertion is, as yet, unproven - since v2.0 will be the first major update.
It may be that if the menu settings are reorganised or contain new parameters the settings file restore...

Re: Location lists

Have a look at the "PlanIt! Pro" app.

Re: West Cumbrian beaches last year

#1 is my favourite - there is so much action - in the waves and the clouds scudding across the sky - yet the image excudes a kind of balance & calmness.
Wonderful!

Re: Pen F Hi-res test

Pete,
Excellent examples of HR mode.

Any idea who installed the church lighting - so that we will know who not to use in future? :)
