Re: New camera - what do you do first?

A little bit of both for me. I'll read the start of the manual and confirm I know the simple things like strap fixing and batteries and card use then give a cursory glance at the rest of the manual...

Re: Old and New Lifeboat station, Burry Port

I knew cars were getting bigger but I guess that must apply to lifeboats too. Looks like the new one will have wings and fly out of the shed like Thunderbird 2 to get over the rocks.
As Mark said...

Re: Communal Night-Sky Photography Thread

Noise! I thought they were stars :D Well I wont tell if you don't.
Yes 4 hours of clear sky in itself is quite a challenge.
I presume you have dew heaters for your scope, never thought about the...

Re: A mix of this years Landsacpes

Interesting comment about hi spot metering I've not tried that. I usually use normal spot metering and dial the exposure comp back to around -1. I'm probably engineering pretty much the same metering...

Re: HLD-9 battery grip for E-M1 mk11

I'm afraid there are a lot of these around unused Stewart as Olympus often gives them away for free with new EM1.2s!

Re: Mooning in My Pyjamas

It might not have wings Ron but it travels pretty fast! For someone who thought he didn't know what he was doing it's a pretty good image :)

Re: The Photography Show - free entry for some

When working I used to get free tickets. It was a bit of a stretch but they were pretty lax then however since the organisers changed they were much keener to check up so I've been paying now I've...

Re: Good Lookin' Gum Trees

Lovely trees Mark, quite spectacular.
Yes my son travelled to the states in the next seat to Warwick on the plane. He certainly didn't need extra legroom. I saw a TV prog recently where he went out...

Re: The Moon

I tried it on my previous attempt but found it was just about better to stick with the cropped raw edit rather than the x2 jpg. It was very close though and I was surprised because in the past I've...

Re: The Moon

It did clear later so I had a quick go this was the best I could get with the 40-150 plus tc. I think you've just convinced me to go for a 100-400 rather than wait for an Oly x2 converter.

Re: E-M1 ii & 12-40 for 850

Looks doggy to me too hope it all goes well. The feedback looks a bit suspect too as there are many duplicate entries at differing prices often from the same person. Fingers crossed for you we are...

Re: "That back-to-front lens hood" - Post yours here.

Do you guys have a particular brand you'd recommend? There seems to be quite a wide range of sprays that come up when you Google dry silicone spray.

Re: Panasonic 100-400

Tord those are very interesting coments as you have both lenses. Especially the bokeh comments. I thought the panasonic had a slightly better bokeh rendering than the Oly 300. I was under the...
