Re: New firmware finally imminent?

Somehow, I don't think that setting would suit me (I tried it) & went back to using the Fn Switch to quickly select MF again (after I reset settings to accept that again), but it gave me a chance to...

Several birds were around Friday morning.

Friday morning was fine & several birds were fairly active in our yard, so I just had to try for some photos. Here are some.

Crimson Rosella...

Re: Hello from Australia

G'day Trailfox.
Nice to see you on here.
The E-M5 can be a backup & I wouldn't sell it as you are unlikely to get all that much for it now anyhow.

Re: New firmware finally imminent?

Could you please enlighten me on which "appropriate option to the Function Lever" you refer to?

Re: New MC 20 announced.

I keep using my 40-150 with the MC14 most of the time, so maybe I'm not seeing how much better it could be without the MC14, because I'm usually wanting maximum reach out of it for a majority of the...

Re: New MC 20 announced.

From my experience the combination works but not with sharp results though particularly resulting with 400mm F8.0 at the long end (where it's wanted). Maybe it's just with the lens I had too though....

Re: So who actually has an E-M1x?

Maybe not so many here but some on 'that other' forum. ;)

Actually, I believe Barr1e & Ann1e do, among others.

They're probably too busy taking photos instead of being here & just talking about...

Re: A downside of not having an Anti-aliasing filter?

Thanks, but no, sharpness makes no difference. It is just a fact of a moire effect when fine lines at certain angles etc can create this effect. I've yet to try HiRes for this to see how much it may...

Re: A downside of not having an Anti-aliasing filter?

All food for thought, so thank you all. I'm going to try & recreate the incidence of it on that same subject & see if I can do a HiRes shot with it as well, just to satisfy my curiosity etc. & then...

Re: The Invasion Has Started.

OM, you were lucky no 'sharp shooter' was pointing a gun at you from the copter. ;)
Anything that moves (or looks like it might) is shot at over there. :p

Re: A downside of not having an Anti-aliasing filter?

Thanks. Yes, I've had it before in the finer detail of the feathers, but I was surprised how much it showed in this instance.

Would be correct in thinking a sensor of higher pixel count be less...

Re: A downside of not having an Anti-aliasing filter?

Thanks. I might have to wait a couple of days for the sun to shine again, but a nice thought using the HiRes though. Iíll show the full image as well next time too (Iím in bed now browsing on my...

Re: A downside of not having an Anti-aliasing filter?

No, it's not a monitor thing or zooming in etc. I cropped tighter & upsized the image here (to 8000 on the long side) before reducing for this display.

A downside of not having an Anti-aliasing filter?

I was feeling a little chuffed over my landscaping efforts at the side of our house & took some progress photos today, but was surprised to see this rainbow striped effect on the sides of the timber...

No emerging photos, just them crawling around. I'll have to go back & upload the emerging photos I took back then, but maybe I did on Four Thirds User gallery....

Re: New MC 20 announced.

The lenses have two pins for decoding which TC is used, but with two connections there is a possibility for three different combinations (pin 1, pin 2 or pins 1&2), so maybe they will bring an MC17...

Re: New MC 20 announced.

There is also hope from someone commenting on FB for an MC17 as Olympus did apply for a patent on that too.
