Re: Olympus Workspace - Replacement for OV3

Just installed the 64 bit version on Windows 10 without issues and it looks quite decent. It certainly seems much more user friendly than OV3. Yes, there is a manual!

The new 1.7 version of Affinity Photo is now available as a beta test version for existing owners of the app. It installs in parallel with the existing version.

Re: Coming to terms using flckr - Advice appreciated.

Hi Ross

The images look fine - no problems there!

You may want to reduce the size of your uploads and/or restrict the ability to download images.

I change the titles of the images from the...

Re: What programs for panorama stitching Mk II photos?

Affinity Photo will give you integrated panorama stitching, focus and exposure stacking, for less than 50. Cheaper than some of the stand-alone tools or Lightroom add-ins. I use mine in conjunction...

Re: It's Not Cricket!

The much revered W.G.Grace was a great cricketer and a renowned cheat.

Essex fast bowler Charles Kortright was incensed by some sledging and bombarded him with short balls, getting Grace LBW and...

Re: Affinity's raw processing

I think the problem is that raw images are dull and flat by nature. Raw engines apply some sort of pre-processing on import to make them more palatable. I haven't come across any apart from Affinity...

Re: A trio from the North East

If it were mine I would just remove the white patches on the drifting wood which are very distracting.

Re: Corrugated iron - but not as we know it!

Not sure about Iceland, but a number of British companies exported flat pack corrugated iron buildings all over the world. John Lysaghts in Bristol was one of the biggest.

Re: Focus Bracketing

You can buy Affinity Photo for much less than $89. Hardly fair to describe it as "a PS knock off". It's a very serious piece of work.

It handles stacking (of all sorts) very well.

Re: Laowa 7.5mm f2.0

I succumbed to a used 7-14 f2.8 a while ago. It's a lovely lens but big and heavy! I realised I would rarely want to carry it around and filters are a big issue.

So it was sold and I got the...

Re: Any Affinity Photo Users?

Affinity Photo is a Photoshop replacement, not a Lightroom replacement. There will apparently be a plugin cataloguing system from Serif at some point but I have no idea of timescale.

TBH The...

Re: Amateur Photographer NR Software Survey

That's a great result, Andy. With modern software like DXO, the days of obsessing about differences in high ISO handling due to sensor size are effectively over.

Re: video card

What you seem to have is a good monitor and a very low spec graphics card.

Upgrading the graphics card as Paul suggests is the best way to go in my opinion especially if you got the monitor at a...
