Not entirely true, it depends, what you describe happens when EVF sensor=auto , if you set EVF sensor=off and you use EVF you can also use the pad with black LCD unfolded.

On H mode it's logical to have more fps even in CAF because you don't have a real Liveview but you see the last photos you take , on L mode you engage the Liveview (with short blackouts) on EVF or...

for better reds on EM1 try ISO 100, imagine resource tests show a different render with improved detail on red silk on ISO 100 vs ISO > 200.

Maybe the combo E-M1 with PanaLeica 14-150mm is the reason for the focus problems, I have a friend here with the same combo and has problems with blurry images.
