Re: My photography is better than yours

I think we've got a crossed wire here. Steve's original post is to a website which gets regular updates. One of its recent updates was called "My photography is better than yours", as in this...

Oops - that link takes me to the compose new post screen!

I find the easy way to get gallery images into posts is directly on the composition screen - either for a new post or the "Post Reply"...

Re: Concrete Plans

Mark is a generous chap, he's sent it to southern England today. Not to be greedy, but I hope we can have some more tomorrow; I've spent the last several rugby Saturdays shivering in the dark and...

Re: And now the Derby sunrise

Stunning, as Mark says.

I rather like the distant combination of the smoking chimney and wind turbines.

Re: EM1 mk2 software wish

Not related to your original suggestion, but I raised a request last year:

Basically I want to be able to keep the rear screen dark without...

Re: A walk in the Chilterns (image heavy)

A lovely set Huw. As others have said, the deer shot is pretty special, brilliantly seen and executed. I wonder if there are two pissed-off farmers - one at losing his deer, the other at having deer...

Re: Bigma and EM-1..??

Fair point Rob, but it's not just when you are using it. You have to carry it around, and if the only strap attachment points are on the body, the body and lens mount will have to support the weight...

Re: Bigma and EM-1..??

I always wonder about that. The 12-100 f/4 is pretty hefty and doesn't have a mount so we have to assume that it is designed to be OK at least that far. Which is nowhere near the weight of the Bigma,...

Re: Macro lens recommendations

Just a thought - Ian, who set the forum up and runs it, offers a rental service for lots of Olympus kit. There is a link in the banner at the top of the page. I just checked the list and the 60mm...

Re: Lightroom MKII issues

It may be that your version of LR is too old to recognize the Mark II's raw files. It is a different sensor from the Mark I so it will need to interpret the raw data differently.

I'm not too sure...

Re: Are Olympus Accessories overpriced

Design of complex items like cameras and lenses is a difficult and expensive business, and this will be reflected in the price of the end product. But how much design is there in a lens hood or...

Re: Sllepy Street

Nice looking terrace. I always think that there would be very atmospheric photos to be had of similar places if it weren't for the cars. But then I don't live there and need to go to work/shops etc....

Re: Macro lens recommendations

The Oly 60mm f/2.8 Macro gets good reviews, is fairly compact, works with the whizzy features like focus stacking, and is of roughly similar angle of view to your Canon 100mm:
