Re: From total over-exposure to 'Art'?

All you need to do with that now is to add a few texture layers in Ps, and youíve got a winner.
It is quite amazing what Capture One can extract from a burned file.

Re: Political: We're doomed, Captain Mannering...

Anyone looking for some facts (plus some intelligent speculation, clearly marked as such) about travel after B-day might like to have a squint at this (the rest are welcome to continue to sow Bland...

Re: Norwich to London - Holga plastic lens

I must try one of these.
Like Intentional Camera Movement shots I'm sure the key is taking a lot and being selective in pruning. There's no doubt the atmosphere in several of those is really great.

Re: Communal Bird Photography Thread

You have to be very lucky to get one of these close up! They avoid humans like the plague it seems.

As luck would have it, the last time one flew really close over me at Titchwell I was changing...

Re: Fun in London...

Great! I remember it well.
I occasionally come across Jon on the Sony and m4/3 forums on dpreview: he bought my E1 and still uses it every now & again.

BLH-1 compact dual USB travel charger

I heard about these on a podcast today (actually talking about the Sony version). I see there's only one review for the Oly BLH version, which says the fit isn't very good.

Re: Lenses: relative length & diameter

Iíve assumed itís down to the rise in resolution of sensors, plus the testing regimes of organisations like dxo, which push manufacturers to create more and more exotic lens designs with multiple...

Re: Three young ladies at the Maritime Museum

Yes, Liverpoolís great.

I like Steveís image a lot. Yeah, itís terminally unsharp, but doesnít it give a fine impression of the scene which is all about the light rather than the substance?

If...

Re: Lexar 64Gb UHS-II 150Mb/s for £29.99

Iím talking subjectively: the key point is that with either card Iíve never had the camera halt taking images in long bursts because the internal buffer was full. It may well take longer to write to...

Re: Pitch black and foggy!

I suspect you'd be fine at 2000, with occasional forays higher. The only M10 I've got or ever used is converted to full-spectrum so I can't speak from experience!

Re: Pitch black and foggy!

Spooky!

About the ISO: if this is an E-M1ii, and depending on what your intended use of the images is, I'm sure you'd be OK up to at least 3200. As long as it's well exposed and carefully...

Re: Corbyn at the Cenotaph

Yeah, well.

Our gloriously independent press would castigate him if he'd turned up in full military kit with medals (if he'd been qualified to wear them). Similarly, Teresa May is always...

Re: An impala, a leopard and a patient hyena

Interesting - an old university friend of mine has a stake in a farm in the Karoo. We haven't yet made it there, but will soon.

Let's hope SA stays in the developed world (or, what passes for it,...

Re: O2 arena

Yes, I've taken my Fuji X70 to similar events and had no trouble with security.

I used to take my old Sony RX100, but the 1" sensor isn't nearly as good in dim light (or at coping with contrasty...
