Re: Flickr Sold To SmugMug

I had 16 spam emails (all the same) about this from them. I just deleted the lot as I don't have any desire to use flickr etc. *shrug

That's totally valid as well as having enjoyed using the camera all that time too.

Re: Bit the bullet............

I printed my stuff long before buying it! ;) :D As soon as specials & bonuses came last June I jumped on it, although as always, if I had waited a little longer I could have saved a further $250 from...

Re: Worth digging out your old glass?

Nice. I guess I should exercise my old 70-300 lens too some time & listen to the whine as it finds focus. ;) It would be interesting to see just how well it compares (optically) to my recent lenses...

Re: BLN-1 Replacement

I prefer the Olympus original & had one of the cheaper batteries for the E-M5 (same battery) swell on me, so that got chucked pretty quick.

Re: Bit the bullet............

It's always nice when something like the bonus grip is part of the deal & although Olympus AU doesn't have the bonus, a couple of their dealers do (DCW & Digidirect). I'm sure you will enjoy the Mk...

Re: FW Update 12-50mm lens to Version 1.4

Downunder it is still available as a lens or in the E-M5 Mk II kit.

Re: FW Update 12-50mm lens to Version 1.4

I have also bought the 12-40 Pro lens last Boxing Day since my 12-60 SWD lens got its aperture blades stuck, but I will still keep the 12-50, particularly if doing video (in bright enough conditions)...

Re: Aiternative to Movie Button?

As long as you realise it interrupts the movie & stops that file to start a new one.

Re: How to update FW, Aussie style!

The advice to remove memory cards for FW updates have been mentioned in their manuals for as long as I can remember (since E410 for me), but not necessarily in the manuals for recent models & I can't...

Looking good Mark. He's certainly making progress! *yes

Looks like dunny & shower (or bath) drain connections to me, but I hope he puts some walls around them though. :D

Looks like three...

Re: Aiternative to Movie Button?

Using the video button while using A or P mode allows for a quick video grab but the video mode allows for full video features access & still requires a button to start & stop recording, but then I'm...

Re: Aiternative to Movie Button?

Button assignments include Video on Fn1, Fn2, AEL/AFL & both front buttons, so you could choose one of those if desired. I would say one of the front buttons if they aren't used could be a good...

Re: Problem Uploading Images to Gallery

That would be the biggest issue as any software (app) on the iPad would need to resize the image to an acceptable size etc. & quality. Using OV3 on my PC I go up to 1200 X 900 pixels at Standard...

Re: Inconsistent remote control of flash guns...

Macro is close & requires very little flash power whereas portrait type situations would take a lot more to light it as it depends on distance, surrounding colours & textures etc.

Re: Inconsistent remote control of flash guns...

As mentioned earlier, that angle of line of sight can be cheated if there is sufficient reflective area (within that 50 degree angle) to which the flash's sensor can be facing to pick up that...

Re: Inconsistent remote control of flash guns...

I think what it is saying is that P mode will allow for aperture & shutter variation to work with the TTL flash level, or Shutter Priority would do the same if set to say 1/250 sec (or longer), but...

Re: Inconsistent remote control of flash guns...

You are using Eneloop batteries in the flash, aren't you? :) They are the best & especially the Eneloop Pro (shorter shelf life but higher power).
