Re: Question

For better IQ go for the PRO lens. For marginally slightly more shots in focus go for the M1ii. The M1 will handle differently to the M5 - not better or worse, just differently, so try it before you...

Re: Question

Unless you are really going after birds in flight I'd go for the lens first. It's capturing fast moving things where the EM1 mk2 has the biggest advantage. I think you'll struggle to see the mega...

Re: Question

Doesn't the E-M1 Mk1 allow for a limited amount of PDAF as well as CDAF? which the E-M5 doesn't have, which would give a slight edge in focusing? However the Mk1 limitations for Birds in Flight mean...

Re: Question

Mark, to get the best bird pictures you need to be very close to your subject. So bush skills are very important. If you are very close then you need to be shooting in f8 - f11 range to get enough...

Re: Question

Then you can get an EM1 Mk ii in about 15 months time for a lot less than it is today - do not forget the 1.4 adapter for the 40-150mm lens.

Re: Question

I'd say the M5 Mkii + the 40-150mm F2.8 pro. But that's just gut feel really.

Re: The Boeing 2707

Interesting.

"A key design feature of the 2707 was its use of a swing wing configuration. During development the required weight and size of this mechanism continued to grow, forcing the team to...

Re: London and Tourists (8 images)

Its possible that I have over emphasised the tone curve a bit to bring out some detail as it looked a lot darker than this in real life. I'm also not sure exactly where it focussed as the buildings...

Does Money really bring Happiness?

I came across this story earlier today via a trade organisation, and I have to say it is as surreal as it is bizarre.

A Russian Oligarch’s $500 Million Yacht is in the middle of Britain’s...

Re: British Rail

We have our Senior Railcard linked to the TFL Oyster Card, this gives a reduced daily cap on journeys in London, if you have a bus pass it doesnot give you any extra benefit on the buses.

To link...

Yes! I have a Seniors railcard (60 or or over) and it provides a tremendous saving. If you travel with a companion a Two Together card is also worth getting.

We are dead lucky here in Pontarddulais, we get the Mid Wales railway line, which takes you all the way to Shrewsbury if wanted. Only does that about three times a day, but you can have a nice trip...

Re: British Rail

As my interest is in the landscape and wildish places there isn't much opportunity to use the train to get there. Buses would be a bit more useful if there were more of them; I cannot for instance...

Re: British Rail

I have a Senior Railcard which gives me a third off most fares, but it costs £30 a year (or £70 for three years) so you have to make a fair bit of use of it before it's worthwhile. The Bus Pass is...
