Re: Battery - charging error

No, the most likely thing is that the first battery finally decided to take a bit more charge and that pushed it up to full. You can relax now.

Re: Battery - charging error

It certainly is not working correctly. The charger is continuing to charge and not reaching completion. You are unlucky.

Do you have another battery? If you have you can determine if the problem...

Re: Battery - charging error

Does it stop blinking and show a continuous light? That is the signal that it has finished charging.

Is this an Olympus charger with an Olympus battery?

Re: Can you save/store AF point by orientation?

No, there is no automatic way to do that.

You can set the AF point by touching the screen, even if your eye is at the viewfinder. See the manual for how to turn this on.

Re: Battery - charging error

For those who have not read the manual, here is what it says. And I assure you it is correct.

Charging indicator
- Charging in progress, Less than 50%: Blinks in orange 1 time/second
- 50% or...

Re: New silver E-M1 Mark II camera

You get the standard raw, named .ORI and the hires raw, named .ORF, and the JPG. But you choose all this in the menu, after selecting hires mode. See the manual.

Re: Remote control devices

It is compatible with the Canon RS-60E3.
Here is one for 5.80 - you could cut the cable to modify it.

Re: Card specs

To be pedantic, m means milli, 1/1000, so mb means a millibit, one thousandth part of a bit.
M means Mega, a million, so MB means millions of bytes.

Re: E-M1 II Firmware Upgrade 2.3

I found exactly the same. They fixed the bug in the updater! (Mine was on a PC, so both Mac and PC updaters are fixed.)

Re: Hi Res

It is a crop of a small enough area so that when it is displayed on the forum there will be one pixel on the monitor for every pixel in the photo.

I'm not sure about this forum but I'm guessing...

Re: Card specs

Olympus do specify the brand for UHS II, Sandisk. See here:

You are right in saying what the dealer...

Re: Hi Res

You need to do a 100% crop. The difference should be easy to see.
Did you have the camera really stable - an ordinary tripod may not be good enough. Try resting it on a flat concrete slab.

Re: Card specs

It is the write speed that matters not the read speed.
I use the SanDisk 300MB/s cards. They are what Olympus recommend for this camera.

Re: E-M1 II Firmware Upgrade 2.3

Run Olympus Viewer 3.
On the menu, update software.
Then update camera.

This will update your updater from a reliable source, instead of hunting around the internet.

Re: Photo filenames resetting

I have run out of ideas then. I suggest you should in any case be writing down all your settings. Reset the camera and then re-enter the settings. I am convinced this is down to your settings.

Never.

Do you have a good SD card?
Try a different SD card.
Clean camera and lens electrical contacts.

Re: Photo filenames resetting

Are you saying that you have a different filename prefix in the different settings?
If so, that is a problem.
ALL the filename settings should be the same everywhere.

Re: Photo filenames resetting

If you had done what I suggested above you would have been able to see what the problem was, i.e. that some of the filename settings were different to others.

Now you have set the C1 settings and...

Re: Trying to save RAW colour and mono jpg

Having read the above it seems that what you actually need has little to do with the use of the card slots. You simply want a mono jpg immediately and also the raw file which you can do anything with...

In that case you have still not set it up right. Try the following.
1. Set the Mode dial to A. Carefully look at all the settings relating to filenames.
2. Set the mode dial to C1. Carefully look...

The solution is to load the C1 setting using the menu, set the filename settings as...

Change to SanDisk Extreme Pro, I use their UHS II 300MB/s 64GB cards. They are what Olympus recommend and they are excellent.
