Re: E-M5 MkI converted to IR

Ok... looks like there's nothing of interest here. I think 400 is a fair price, so no further reductions. I'll try selling it elsewhere.

Thanks for looking and for the interesting exchange.

Re: E-M5 MkI converted to IR

Always seems to work for me. Can't think why it wouldn't... the internal 665nm filter cuts anything with a shorter wavelength but lets longer wavelengths through. A 720nm screwed into the lens cuts...

Re: E-M5 MkI converted to IR

Here are some pics... taken with my phone, so not the best but you get the idea.

Additional info:
* Screen protector since new
* 1168 shutter count
* Strap shown in pictures not included

Re: E-M5 MkI converted to IR

Fascinating... didn't realise shooting without a filter would even give something usable. Thanks for the tip.

Re: E-M5 MkI converted to IR

Thanks for the corroboration.

I wouldn't think you use a full-spectrum conversion without either an IR, UV or visible bandpass filter in place so the lens wouldn't have to focus the full range...

Re: E-M5 MkI converted to IR

Can't post pictures of the camera until later. It's in excellent condition though - very well looked after. I'll post some later today if I can.

Regarding focusing, I don't believe adjustment is...

Re: Firmware version 2.2 released for the EM1 MK2

Upgraded two bodies today. Irritatingly, although the updater did save/restore my settings, the touch screen was re-enabled (first thing I do is switch it off) when the process was complete.

Re: Using hi-power rechargeable AA batteries for flashguns

Can't remember where I read it - maybe this and releated (https://www.slrlounge.com/panasonic-eneloop-vs-ikea-ladda-are-they-the-same/) - but they tested Ikea LADDA batteries (their low discharge...

Re: Tiny Harvestman Through Laowa 25mm x2.5 to x5

Nice pics from an interesting lens... I may be in the Far East in a few weeks and could be tempted at the right price. I note that there isn't a u4/3 mount - which mount and adapter are you using for...

Re: ISO & Digital Sensors

I agree with Paul's comments in the main, but the article, although interesting from a technical perspective, is not relevant to most people. Pragmatically speaking, most people won't care. Unless...

Yes, quite difficult. I took a couple during the 2015 eclipse and I think there were 12 stops of difference in the exposure.

Re: X-Rite i1Display Pro screen calibration tool

You may be right, Ian, but I've only ever seen one version:

X-Rite i1Display Pro screen calibration tool

A factory refurbished unit supplied directly by X-Rite. Unused (apart from to test it works) as I have another unit that I use regularly.

I have found the results for commercial printing and for...

Re: IR screw-in filter supplier recommendations?

I've found this one

https://amzn.to/2N3iaP9

OK on my converted E-M5 (665nm). It's a 720nm, though. I've also tried a Neewer 760nm and that produced expected results, too.

Re: The Red Arrows in my Back Garden

They look pretty good to me... not an area I've put much effort into but I'd be happy with them. A better sky would be nice, of course, but you can't control that.

Re: Any good tutorials for BIF settings?

As far as I'm aware, at fast shutter speeds as usually required for BIF, rolling shutter is also a problem for mechanical shutters.

Re: BLH-1 Aftermarket battery funnies.

My experience is quite different. I found the ExPro batteries for my Mk I E-M1 have perhaps slightly lower capacity (10%? - not actually measured, but my feeling is that they are about that) but...

Re: BLH-1 Aftermarket battery funnies.

I think there's a two year warranty on ExPro batteries. I had one go bad and they changed it without any quibbling.

Re: BLH-1 Aftermarket battery funnies.

I was hoping that ExPro would have a full replacement by now. Their batteries for the original E-M1 were a like-for-like replacement and thus fully functional. I assume that Olympus have put more...

Re: HLD 9 grip for EM1 mk2

Re: Prices for EM1 Mk1

I advertised one here a week or so ago - HLD-7 (practically unused), and E-M1 with 3800 shots. No takers at 450 even though in excellent condition with all boxes and three batteries, so 400 may be...
