Out and about

Hi All

I managed to get out and about for the first time in a while, with the intention to try out HDR. (Something I've never tried)

Anyway - two shots attached for your approval. Any C&C...

35mm scanner

Hi All

I know this topic has been bought up before - but last time was a while back.

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on a film scanner? I have a load of old snaps I'd like to...

Re: Up in Smoke

Great pics. Something I'd really like to try myself.

I was thinking about trying incense sticks for a smoke source. The smoke looks a little denser.

Also -a friend of mine took some cracking...

Re: Clutching at straws

Glad it bought it back some memories!

The Corus shutdown is really a sad story for this part of the world. It's also inspired a load on local photographers to get down and take some pics before...

Re: Vignetting on 40-150mm

Yes, it's the new one f4-f5.6. It actually came with the tubular hood, not the petal one. Incidently, the pic above was taken at F5.6

I've had a look at some of the other shots, and there...

Vignetting on 40-150mm

Hi All
I've been playing about with my 40-150mm recently, as it's a new purchase for me.

I've found that at the top end, I'm getting some vignetting?! Is this typical of the lens?

I did...

Re: Where the Sun Don't Shine

The formation in the first shot looks amazing. The colours and textures are really 'organic'. Looks like a mature side of beef!

Very impressive

CF compatibility

Hi All

I'm struggling to get a definitive answer for this. What CF cards will the E-410 accept.

I'm aware it'll take up to up to 8gb TypeII. What about the faster III and IV cards?

Also...

Re: Reflections

I'm going the other way - I really like 2.

It has a Tim Burton/Gothic feel to it, and would probably look good in B&W

Re: Clutching at straws

Hi Ewan

Thanks for your comments - and for the adjusted pic. It really makes a difference.

I must admit, I'm a 35mm convert, so the whole field of PP is relatively new to me.

The metering...

Re: OM wideangle lenses

That's essentially the issue.

The OM lenses, and all 35mm lenses for that matter, have their focal length effectively doubled due to the crop factor. This means even a 8mm fisheye would be 16mm on...

OM wideangle lenses

Hi All

I'm considering the pros and cons of picking up a wide angle OM lens, whether a zoom or prime, to use for landscapes.

Is this pointless?

The way I figure it, is that even a 28mm OM...

Re: Filters and Holders

Something that was mentioned to be that may be worth sharing, is consider the effects of light leaking on the square filters.

I don't think this is ever really a problem. It's just that I was...

Hi All

Just wanted to say how do!

Great to see an olympus forum. Too many sites I've been to are centred around Canon!

So - I'm after a flashgun for me E-410, something like the FL36 or FL50. I don't need the Remote model,...
